Dreamweaver Braiding: Lovely site by a master braider, many photographs of fantastic styles and some fairly in-depth instructions as well. Also contains many links to other braider sites.
Styling Station: Excellent long hair styling tips and directions from the Long Hair Loom. Zillions of styles.
The Beauty Brains: Excellent site about the truth behind cosmetic companies' claims, run by a number of anonymous cosmetic chemists who are anxious to debunk the false claims and myths. Excellent information about hair products (and other cosmetic products as well).
Biracial Hair.org: Tremendous site by a woman with tightly curled hair describing her trials while learning how to manage it, grow it, and keep it looking utterly magnificent. Relaxers, perms, texturizing, weaves, extensions, the works -- and what she learned is of use to women with tightly curled hair of all ethnicities, including 100% black African women and ethnic white women. I very much look forward to her book being published, and I admit to some curiosity as to her techniques, especially given that my own hair does the phone-cord spiral thing when left to its own devices.
Imaginary Styles: Styling site for the various odd and pretty styles seen in many fantasy movies. The young woman who runs this site has exceptionally thick hair and does all of the styles herself. If you also have very long/thick hair, you can get a lot of good ideas out of this site. (You may want to go into the site from here, as the index page has some strange CSS on it that can make it render oddly.)
The World of Hair: A site by Proctor & Gamble. Surprisingly useful and straightforward despite being a sponsored site. You'll find no insistence in using P&G haircare products, and a great deal of honest advice and information. Excellent site.
Henna for Hair: Forums and purchase for the only dyestuff anyone who wishes to grow very long hair should ever use. Also an excellent treatment for dandruff.
The Niamh Elite: Livejournal community for people with waistlength or longer hair. Good tips and information.

Hairtoys: Clips, Sticks, and Others

Ficcare: The best hairclips for very long hair, bar none. The Maximas clip in particular is almost the only clip anyone with very long hair would ever need. Three sizes, the large is recommended for classic-length use.
Flexi-8: Absolutely fantastic, figure-8 shaped hairslides. Many sizes, lots of styling options. I use a Medium for the "Upbraided" style, a Large for the "Ficcare braid," and an Extra Large for a "Figure-8 bun." All styles can be found on my Styles page.
Susannah's Combs: Lovely vintage haircombs and forks, not inexpensive and aimed at collectors.
eBay Hair Sticks, Combs, and Picks: Wonderful things. You'll find many of the sellers I mention on my Hairsticks page there, such as Ron Quattro, Graydog, Monk the Monk, Wood by C, and Lalo Orna.
Dressy Tresses: Lovely, strong, very femme if you like that sort of thing.
Maiden's Treasures: Top-quality, a real cut above the standard "stick of wood with beads."
