2008 YOUTH TRACK PROGRAM INFORMATION

 
Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M. at Running Brushy Middle School in Cedar Park. 

The CP Classic Running Club is a competitive running club for runners of all abilities born 1990 through 2000.  We specialize in the middle‐ and long‐ distance events from 800 meters (half mile) and longer.  We have a strong reputation, a long history of success, and claim among our athlete's honors: TAAF State Athlete of the Year, AAU All-Americans, UIL State Meet Medalists, Texas Relays Champion, 32 youth national championship medals, and 121 youth national championship events contested.  We are proud of these accomplishments, but our main focus is always the athlete’s long-term development and success.

 

Youth Track Program - For distance runners born between 1990 and 2000.

-Focused on training and preparing youth distance runners.  Competitions are optional.  Gain valuable experience running and training with a great group of athletes. 
-Training sessions are Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M from April through early August.

 

Registration Fees and What is Included:

$210 for New Members.
$180 for Returning Members.

-All Members receive: Dry-fit t-shirt, AAU & TAAF sanctioning, paid entry into AAU & TAAF competitions (including qualifiers), insurance, team and individual pictures, club discount at RunTex, personalized training plan, coached training sessions, and Members Only web access.

-New Members receive: Competition team singlet in addition to items and privileges listed above.

-All athletes must be registered by their third attended practice, or first attended competition, whichever comes first.

 

Practices and Competitions

Practices:  Begin Monday, April 14th and conclude in early August.  Practices go from 60 to 90 minutes in length at Running Brushy Middle School in Cedar Park.  Athletes involved in school programs can start practices at a later date, but must contact the CP Classic and register as soon as possible.

Competitions:  Begin in mid-May and championship competitions conclude in early August.  Championship competitions are sanctioned by the AAU and TAAF.  Most competitions are local, but some championship competitions are contested in other parts of Texas and the United States.  Competitions are optional and are based on the athlete's desire.

All registered athletes will be issued AAU and TAAF memberships by the CP Classic.

Return Registration Form and fees at practice or mail in.  Athletes must be fully registered by their third attended practice or first attended competition.

Registered athletes must join the CP Classic Members Only Web Site Access.  Do this on: www.cpclassic.com.  The Members Only section contains schedules, announcements, Coaches' Corner, FAQs, etc.

Regularly check: www.cpclassic.com for information and announcements.

6.

Get proper equipment that is needed for training and racing, such as shoes, spikes, shorts, etc.  Competition singlets and t-shirts are provided to athletes.

7.

Encourage friends to join.  Having friends involved makes the experience even more enjoyable.

8.

Parents are encouraged to get involved in anyway at anytime, such as help the coaches at practice, volunteer at meets, and/or assist with fundraising.
