Cub Scout Pack 531

It is unfortunate but true that Pack 531 of Arvada,  CO no longer exists.  The Pack disbanded in February of 2003, after 27 years of Scouting.  Problems recruiting at the school (John Little Elementary, where we held our Pack meetings for most of our existance) for several years led to the Pack becoming smaller and smaller.  In the end, after Den 5 crossed over to Boy Scouts, the Pack just was not big enough to supply its own leadership.

There were a lot of boys who had a lot of good experiences in this Pack, many of whom took this as a good start, and continued on the Scouting Trail.
Some of our Webelos crossed over into Troop 667 of Arvada, and others into another Troop. Almost all of our younger boys continued Scouting in Pack 667.  If you have a son in John Little Elementary, and are wondering what to do now that there is no Pack there, Pack 667 is a great choice.

Those of us fortunate enough to be involved in leading this Pack over the years were glad to have made a difference in the lives of these fine young men.
Pack 531 was a registered unit of The Boy Scouts of America, and was part of the Denver Area Council. Within this council, we were part of the Gateway District.

We are keeping photos and reports of some of the Packs more recent activites here, in case anyone wants to look at them one last time:

Den 5 had a web page even before the Pack had one.  Here is the story of that den and even more pictures from its earlier years.

We are also keeping some photos and stories of our old Den 5 boys in Troop 667.  This is seperate from the official 667 web page.

If you have any questions or comment, you can still send some e-mail to our last Cubmaster Joe Obrin.
