Unabashed Vanity

I started geopolitically-oriented blog on LiveJournal as a way of making my voice heard in these troubled times. I have since relocated to Blogger.

I had an article on the future of infantry published at mindjack.com. The piece got cited on Utne's Web Watch and Howard Rheingold's latest book, Smart Mobs.

I've also done a few song remixes.

UPDATED!

Enjoy a cheesy old text adventure game. Use an online port of the decoder wheel for A Mind Forever Voyaging. I also have an unsupported patch for TinyMUSH 3.0 which adds SSL support. You'll need an SSL-capable client to take advantage of it. I've added a little note on how I got PHP4 and Oracle8i to talk to each other under Apache 1.3.x. I've written my own MUD client and have hacked Win95 registry entries for the CH Products ForceFX joystick. I'm also one of many who have installed Linux. Jump in if you're interested. Or toy around with a colorful Java applet based on my Master's thesis research.

Illogic and Illogicians

Those tired of seeing irrational spouting on the net might consider reading my somewhat tongue-in-cheek analysis: "A Treatise On Illogic".

I've also ported a little BASIC argument program I wrote during my undergrad years to Java.

Mind Control Experiments

On a note tangentially related to to illogic, I also have an experimental Mind Control Page. Remember, you are not a number! (You're an alphanumeric string, of course.) Learn the truth about MUDs on a mirror of a sekrit web page provided to me by a source who remains anonymous and cynical. A less sane individual passed on the truth about the Internet. Seriously, though, there is some very disturbing research material in existence.

Ephemeral Popularity

Hit counters used to be a means of showing off popularity in the early years of the web, but now they're lame. I ditched the third-party hit counter (no free demographic info for them) and ported the Perl hit counter I'd been using to PHP. Whatever. This is my personal hit count for this page since December 10, 1996: 23485
