Neutrino Man's Linux/Usenet Support

(last updated 2000 February 04)

If you like trn, but your newsserver requires authentication, then go get trn 4. Apply this patch for greater anonymity control in your posts.

For those who want to use trn 3.6, here's my hack to provide authentication as trn 3.6a. Instructions for using authentication are in README.authinfo.

NOTE: Linux users must apply this patch after running Configure, but before running make for the trn 3.6a build to work properly.

A patched, stand-alone, authenticating inews is also available.

Both trn and inews have been tried on Linux (as well as SunOS and Solaris)... your mileage may vary.
