A few of our favorite things...

Contributor Projects

Greg Wharton runs Suspect Thoughts, a webzine and small press.

Bill Brent heads Black Books, another subversive little publishing house.

This is Richard Butner's homepage.

This is Daphne Gottlieb's.

And this is Jan Steckel's.

James Courtney did our first cover. You can see some more of his stuff at Naked Comix.

Other Zines We Love

Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet. Gavin Grant has a lot to answer for.

Peko Peko, a zine about food.

Kiss Machine. An endlessly fascinating little thing out of Canada.

Electric Velocipede shares somehwat of a design aesthetic with the first issue of Problem Child, but that's entirely coincidental.

Turbocharged Fortune Cookie. Another fun spec fic zine.

Full Unit Hookup. If you like Problem Child, I'd recommend checking this out. (It's just my opinion, but I think of FUHU, LCRW, and Problem Child as three points on a triangle. FUHU gets the genre peak, LCRW the "lit" peak, and I get the sex peak. We all overlap in the middle. Hey, Venn Diagrams for the zine world!)

In another vein entirely, I am a huge, longtime fan of Punk Planet.

Small Presses, Bookstores, and Groovy Literary Links

I'm too lazy to duplicate the work I've already done in compiling links on my homepage, so follow this link if you're interested in my favorite bookstores and small presses.

But here are some zine-specific literary links:

Invisible City, home of good zine reviews.

Project Pulp, a good place to order those well-reviewed zines.

Don't miss the Zine Guide, now!

Better still, check out the Reader's Guide to the Underground Press.

Market Information

Ralan.com is a great place to find market information on both "pro" markets and little wee projects like us. Science fiction is its specialty; humor is its secondary strength.

The Erotica Readers and Writers Association is great if you write smut.

Other Fun Stuff

Lori's Homepage. 'Nuff said.

Lori's LiveJournal. Ditto.

The XY Conspiracy, a little experiment in HTML fiction. I call this a "fictional website." Check it out and you'll see what I mean.

nibblechomp is a weblog about food, glorious food! that I sometimes participate in.

Unamerican Activities help keep me sane. If you love Problem Child and need to say it to the world, check out Series Seven stickers...

Apocemon. It's the Book of Revalations crossed with Pokemon. Really. A must-see.
