To get some practice with FrameMaker templates, do the following:
- Explain how to start a new document and select a specific template for it from FrameMaker-supplied templates (no demonstration necessary).
- Explain how to specify a two-page alternating-page layout (no demonstration necessary).
- Explain how to place page numbers on opposite sides of the footer frame (left edge on the left page; right edge on the right page) (no demonstration necessary). Note: this and the next items require you to do a few things with master pages.
- Explain how to change the page size (no demonstration necessary).
- Explain how to change the shape and location of the main text frame (no demonstration necessary).
- Explain how to start a new document and use the template you just created (no demonstration necessary).
- Explain how to start a new document and use the template you just created (no demonstration necessary).
- Explain how to import a template into an existing, open document (no demonstration necessary).
- Put all of these explanations in a document that has the following characteristics:
- Width of 5.75 inches and a height of 7.5 inches
- Forced even-page ending (use the Pagination settings)
- Heading 1 tag that uses Arial 14 bold, named using your initials.
- Body 1 tag that uses Times New Roman 10, named using your initials.
- Page-number tag that uses Arial 9 italics, named using your initials.
- Apply these specifications and tags to the text of this document.
Name this document with your first name and initial and _templates.fm (for example, davidm_templates.fm) and send it by e-mail attachment to your instructor.
