Staff Roster

Ruth Ann Rugg- Executive Director


The Council of the Texas Association of Museums (TAM) has named Ruth Ann Rugg as Executive Director. Rugg is an established museum professional with over two decades of leadership experience. With strengths in administration and communications, she is well versed in museum operations and knowledgeable about the challenges facing museums. Ruth Ann Rugg commented: “I am honored to be named Executive Director of TAM and to receive such a significant vote of confidence from the TAM Council. I hope to lead the association to new opportunities for professional development and peer education. The Texas museum community is a marvelous cultural resource and I want TAM to play a constructive role in shaping its future.” Rugg will assume her new duties at TAM Annual Meeting in Galveston, March 25-28.


 

Sandy SageSandy Sage - Program Associate/Museline Editor

 

Sandy Sage has been with TAM since April 1997. She coordinates and plans the annual meeting program, workshops and other continuing education programs. She edits the quarterly newsletter Museline. She also helps plan and administer annual meeting activities. Prior to coming to TAM, she was Education Program Coordinator for the O. Henry Museum in Austin (1993-1997.) She received a BFA in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin and earned her associates degree from the State University of New York in Morrisville.

 

 

Joy BarnettJoy Barnett -- Administrative Assistant/ Office Manager/ Webmaster

 

Joy Barnett has served TAM as Administrative Assistant and Office Manager since August 1995. In this capacity, she is responsible for Annual Meeting registration, bookkeeping, membership, office management, and Web site design and maintenance. Prior to coming to TAM, she worked as an administrative assistant for the Lower Colorado River Authority (1989-1995) and as executive secretary for the Austin Oral Surgery Association (1979-1989).
