Fall Workshop

Strength in Numbers: Making the Most of Resource Sharing

A workshop co-sponsored by the Northeast Texas Museum Association
and the Texas Association of Museums

Why don't museums work together more often? Museums have the potential to be stronger when they work together. At this workshop you will learn how to begin the collaboration process and explore ideas to make it happen for your museum. The workshop will be extremely practical, utilizing exercises that will result in shared exhibitions, collection loans, joint grant proposals, joint marketing budgets, and many cooperative project ideas.

Presentations will include: Creative Collaboration, by Renee Hawkins, Director, Longview Museum of Fine Arts, and Scott Peck, Museum Director, The Biblical Arts Center/Museum of Biblical Art, Dallas; Museum Partnerships and the Bottom Line, by John Ernst, Vice President, HI DEF Technology Solutions, Plano; and Resource Sharing and TAM, by Ruth Ann Rugg, Executive Director, Texas Association of Museums

Workshop participants will have time to share their ideas and brainstorm with other attendees to create new ones.
