TAM ANNUAL MEETING

SAVE THE DATE : March 17-20, 2009
Theme: Breaking Down Barriers – Building Bridges
Conference Hotel: Camino Real El Paso

LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS COMMITTEE PUTS FINAL TOUCHES ON CONFERENCE

El Paso Local Arrangements Committee

TAM staff met with the Local Arrangements Committee in El Paso in mid-November to confirm plans for an exciting annual meeting next March. With 28 distinct museums and cultural organizations contributing to the Local Arrangements Committee, the host community is busy preparing several special educational opportunities for TAM annual meeting participants.

The conference will offer off-site sessions in unusual learning environments, varied formats for networking, and a custom-designed children's art day camp for TAM members who travel with their families. Evening events will incorporate walking tours with traditional bus transport to visit El Paso's best in art, history, science, and cultural collaboration.

There is so much to see and do in El Paso! Come meet members of the Border Museum Association and see how counterparts in the southwest work together. Beyond the city limits, TAM will offer one pre-conference and two post-conference tours respectively to Las Cruces and Alamogordo, New Mexico, and along the mission trail to Los Portales. This, in addition to the compelling schedule of pre-conference workshops, meeting sessions, and feature speakers, makes the upcoming annual meeting a must. Don't miss this!

The annual meeting program announcement will be distributed electronically in early January with a link to a full listing of activities and a registration form. Registrations will be accepted immediately following the program announcement. NOTE: TAM will not mail advance printed programs; all information will be available on the TAM web site in early January.
