Marshmallow Surprise
A duple proper double progression contra.
Dan writes "I just took Cal Howard's "Marshes of Mallow" and made it a proper dance instead of improper. This took absolutely no creativity on my part whatsoever."
A1
- Balance & swing same-sex neighbor and end progressed
A2
- Long lines forward & back; Actives swing in center.
B1
- With next couple [the other progression]
- down the hall 4 in line, actives in center;
- actives turn as a couple in center, return and bend the line.
B2
- #1 man and #2 lady chain; return
[David Kirchner calls these people "first corners"]
Dan notes, " This dance is more disorienting than it looks on paper. It would be a good April Fools' dance. The title reminds me of something from a cookbook published in the 50's. "
Dan also wrote Beneficial Tradition, and The Rendezvous. You can email him at <pearl@sw.stratus.com>
