Arizona Attracts Businesses Looking for Data Center Experts

Phoenix, AZ - April 7, 2010

Even with recent unemployment numbers, well over 9 percent nationally, there are still industries experiencing growth despite the recent economic downturn. The data center industry has not only seen growth, Arizona is one of the top locations for data center operations, making it a mecca for companies to store their mission critical IT systems. Greg Davit, Channel Business Development Manager for IO, leading provider of wholesale colocation and data center solutions, was an expert panelist that spoke to a group of technology professionals at the monthly Arizona International Growth Group meeting, in coordination with the Arizona Tech Council on why Arizona is an attractive site for data centers and trends in the industry.

With the abundance of power and Internet connectivity in Arizona, as well as the lack of natural disasters, Arizona creates an environment that provides a cost-effective, well connected and safe environment for data centers. IO sees a large percentage of their clients come from out of state, due to the attractive geographic, business and IT climate that exist in Arizona. With over 30 megawatts of conditioned power and 650,000 square feet of data center space and expanding, IO is also addressing the energy their data centers consume by implementing a number of energy efficient systems throughout their data centers including variable frequency drives, ultrasonic humidification, LED lighting and sealed cabinets.

“Not all data centers are created equal,” said Davit, which is the company’s slogan. “We work with our clients to find the most strategic and cost effective way for them to grow their business without having to worry about their IT services. Our growth is a result of companies that need to streamline their IT infrastructure costs and have the reliability to run an “always-on” IT environment.”
