IO Announces Contract with The Juilliard School

Phoenix, AZ - March 20, 2012

IO, the leading provider of next-generation modular data center technology and services, announced today that they have been awarded a contract by The Juilliard School, the world-renowned performing arts conservatory.

As part of the agreement, IO will provide Juilliard with Data Center as a Service (DCaaS™) delivered out of the IO New Jersey data center. This approach supplies Juilliard a high-performance, cost-effective solution – without having to invest resources in building and maintaining its own data center.

“The mission of The Juilliard School is to provide the highest caliber of artistic education and we look for premier technology solutions that help us advance that mission,” said Tunde Giwa, CTO, The Juilliard School. “IO provides us enterprise-class infrastructure delivered as a service that is unmatched in the New York City region. IO allows us to commit to only the capacity that we need today but also have the flexibility and agility to expand quickly as our needs evolve.”

With more than 831,000 square feet of space available, IO New Jersey is the largest data center in the New York City metropolitan area. IO New Jersey utilizes the IO.Anywhere® modular data center system and is the first commercially available modular data center in existence.

About The Juilliard School

The Juilliard School established this country’s standard for education in the performing arts, beginning with music in 1905. In 1951, its Dance Division was established, with combined training in contemporary and ballet technique. Juilliard became part of Lincoln Center in 1968, and added a four-year drama program. In 2001, Juilliard broke new ground with the addition of its jazz program; a graduate program in Historical Performance began in fall of 2009, the same year that Juilliard inaugurated its partnership with the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. Well into its second century of excellence, Juilliard has expanded its facilities with a 39,000 square-foot addition, completed in 2009. Currently close to 850 young artists from 46 states and 39 foreign countries are enrolled at Juilliard. For more information, visit The Juilliard School Web site at: www.juilliard.edu.
