IO Appoints Adil Attlassy as SVP, Global Operations to Fuel Global Data Center 2.0 Growth

Phoenix, AZ - May 1, 2013

IO, the global leader in software-defined data centers, today announced that Adil Attlassy has joined IO as Senior Vice President, Global Operations and will be based in the Company’s Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Singapore. Mr. Attlassy joins IO from Digital Realty Trust, where he managed data center development across the APAC region.

Mr. Attlassy will report directly to Chief Technology Officer Bill Slessman, and oversee IO’s global Data Center 2.0 strategy, worldwide systems integration, standardization and operations. He brings a unique blend of international experience, leadership, technical competencies and business acumen. In the past seven years, Mr. Attlassy has supported the delivery of more than 500 megawatts of data center capacity across 64 data center sites in North America, Europe and APAC. In his most recent capacity, Mr. Attlassy was managing data center development projects in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne, totaling US$300 million in capital expenditures. In addition, he supported market entry plans for Japan through greenfield development and existing assets acquisition.

“For IO to realize its potential, securing the highest caliber executive talent and relationships is mission critical. Adil is the right executive at the right time,” said IO CEO and Product Architect George Slessman. “In a region that accepts only state-of-the-art technology and holds the future for every major multinational, we are glad to have Adil on our team.”

IO technology has been adopted by the most sophisticated users of data centers to address the explosion in demand coming from big data, consumerization, and mobility.

“Joining the IO team was an easy decision,” said Mr. Attlassy. “The Data Center 1.0, a construction model, is broken. IO has figured out how to fix it and I wanted to be part of the shift change. I’m excited to be part of a team that is disrupting an industry and transforming the way data centers are deployed, provisioned, and optimized.”

Prior to Digital Realty Trust, Mr. Attlassy spent 17 years in the telecommunications and colocation industries. He received a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University Los Angeles and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, the Graduate School of International Management.
