IO Achieves SAS 70 Type II Certification

Phoenix, AZ - November 3, 2009

Deloitte & Touche reaffirms IO’s operational standards and controls

IO Data Centers, the leading provider of wholesale colocation and data center solutions, announced today that it has achieved SAS 70 Type II certification at its Phoenix and Scottsdale Arizona based data centers. The audit, conducted by Deloitte & Touche, confirms that IO Data Centers’ controls have been suitably designed and tested to meet the needs of its clients.

The Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) is one of the most stringent auditing standards for service companies. SAS 70 was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for service providers who wish to prove a high level of control effectiveness to independent auditors, and has become one of the most widely recognized auditing standards for service companies. SAS 70 is the authoritative guidance that allows service organizations to disclose their control activities and processes to their customers and their customers’ auditors in a uniform reporting format.

The SAS 70 Type II certification designates that IO Data Centers delivers reliable and secure operating environments with the proper controls for conducting high availability data center operations. Highly reliable operations are required today by all industries and especially by customers that deal with financial transactions or mission-critical data.

The SAS 70 Type II audit was performed through stringent reviews and tests of IO Data Centers’ operating policies and controls by leading independent auditor Deloitte & Touche. The audit included IO Data Centers’ human resources procedures, physical and logical security, facility and environmental protection, client account management and data center operations.

“We’re pleased to have achieved SAS 70 Type II Certification,” said Bill Slessman, chief operating officer for IO Data Centers. “Having an independent audit affirm the reliability of our data center operations is important for our customers and gives them the peace of mind that their data center adheres to strict quality and operational standards.”
