I'm trying to get this page updated, and I'm finally adding some commentary on each set of figures. Stay tuned! -Jeff

Games Workshop
DungeonQuest
You get about four different fantasy adventurers, all of them warrior types as I recall.
The Fury of Dracula
You get a plastic Dracula (the only vampire in plastic that I know of) and a few (2 or 3?) vampire hunters who make great "normal people" figures.
Advanced HeroQuest
Talisman
Kerrunch
Advanced HeroQuest Paint Set
Titan Legions
Warhammer 40,000 Boxed Set
Warhammer Boxed Set
Dwarfs
High Elves
Empire Army Halberdiers
Orcs
Space Marine Boxed Set
Warhammer Quest
Talisman: City Adventure
Talisman: Dungeon Adventure
Talisman: Dragon's Tower
You get an amazingly cool dragon, all in plastic. Terrify your puny plastic adventurers!
Tyranid Termagants
8 or 12 nasty-looking critters, sort of like the the dog aliens from Aliens 3. They're all basically identical, but you can pose their lil' heads.
Necromunda
Great post-holocaust humans: half are street punks with crewcuts, half are musclebound thugs with mohawks. The weapon arms are separate, so you can do a little cusomizing.
Dark Elves
Chaos Regiment
This boxed set is way cool. Heads, torsos, legs, and arms are all separate pieces, so you can mix & match. You also get shields, a couple of capes, and an assortment of miscellaneous spikes. An absolutely wonderful product for those of you who, like me, are looking for variety and not just a zillion identical figures!
Dark Eldar Warriors
Games Workshop continues its Chaos Regiment idea: you get enough heads, torsos, legs, arms, weapons, and other assorted accessories to make 16 completely individualized Eldar (space elves). I found this set particularly useful for kit-bashing Tsolyani warriors from Empire of the Petal Throne (if any of you remember that cool old game).
Warhammer Quest
One of the motherlodes of plastic figures. Plastic bats, rats, spiders, minotaurs, goblins, orcs, and a set of (4?) heroes, including an excellent wizard. Plus you get these neato dungeon floor pieces, which I wish they'd also sell separately because you don't really get enough of 'em.
Advanced Space Crusade
Grenadier
Fantasy Warriors
A zillion dwarves and orcs. The figures aren't great, and there isn't much variety (2 or 3 poses for each race).
Iron Crown Enterprises
Wings of Death
Space fighter craft.
Steel Warriors
Giant robots. The bodies & arms are separate, allowing for a decent ammount of customization.
Space Rangers
Powered armor guys. There are really only 2 different figures: a commander with helmet off, holding a sword, and a standard powered armor guy with one of several different guns. That was a bit of a disappointment, but the figures are nice, and if you really need 50 nearly identical plastic powered armor guys, this is the place to be.
Mattel
Dark World
The highlight of this set is a pretty nifty chimera figure. You also get some pretty decent giants, and several different hero figures with interchangeable weapons.
Milton Bradley
Battle Masters
This is one of the motherlodes of plastic miniatures. You get archers, mounted knights, beast men, orcs, goblins, a multi-piece (and hence semi-posable) giant (or was it more than one? I forget), and a CANNON!
HeroQuest
bunches of rat-men, a selection of hero figues including a wizard, etc.
Jurassic Park
A definite must-have: you get bunches of those poison-spitting critters (they stand about 1/2" high, and make great dungeon pests), Velociraptors (roughly man-height: I modified some of mine by replacing their puny dino-arms with arms from Games Workshop skeletons - instant medieval or sci-fi saurians!) and a T-Rex. Yes, they've got a T-Rex! It's only about an inch and a half tall, which is a pity, but it's still pretty keen.
Lost World
This has the same figures as Jurassic Park, only less of them. They didn't even bother to add new ones.
Parker Brothers
Tower of the Wizard King
The figures in this game are made of soft plastic, and are not very suitable for painting. What's worse, they come on these annoying fat bases that it takes a lot of work to get rid of.
Lionheart
The Lionheart figures are not very detailed, and not very imaginative. But this is the only source I know of for plastic peasants armed with pitchforks.
Pressman
All of these game offer 50mm scale superhero figures.
X-Men Under Siege
Mutant Chronicles
Spawn: The Game
TSR
Dragon Strike
West End Games
12011 Paranoia Recycled Pack
Warning: these figures are soft plastic, not very suitable for painting.

Carnage
96 unusual fantasy figures, including some very stylish lizard-men (archers, swordsmen, and lizard-riders) and human/barbarians (archers, swordsmen, and bull riders!). But don't be fooled by the packaging! You don't get any wizards or cool bird-drawn wagons. The scupting and casting are a little uneven, but all and all a nice addition to what's available in plastic out there.
Combat Zone
30 customizable scence fiction figures. I dunno, these days I expect more from "customizable" figures. Basically the head and front of the torso are one piece, the arms (with weapon already attached) are a second piece, and the legs and back of the torso are a third piece. Oh, and then there's an assortment of backpacks. But you can only put certain backpacks on certain backs - they have different shaped holes and pegs. Same goes for the head & torso front pieces - you can't stick 'em to whatever bodies you like. I find this all unnecessarily restrictive. They should've dispensed with all the pegs and holes, broken the figures down further, and let you glue 'em toigether however you like. THAT, to me, spells "customization". Also, as in Carnage (above), the sculpting and casting aren't always that great. Still, they offer some of the only female SF figures available in plastic, so I for one am content (if not thrilled) with my purchase.
