Quicksilver is a complete fantasy role-playing game using the Pocket
Universe game system from UNIgames.
The name "Quicksilver" refers to a magical metal which responds to psychic commands. Psychics can "will" quicksilver to take on any shape they wish. Skilled psychics can enchant shaped quicksilver by instilling it with their own psychic power. The trouble with quicksilver is that the more of it you shape, and the more power you channel into it, the more likely it is that it will take on a life of its own. This is called "going rogue", and rogue quicksilver is almost invariably hostile.
In addition to quicksilver manipulation, there is a complete magic system. Magic in the world of Quicksilver is psychic in nature. There are 10 different sorcerous disciplines, and each discipline offers a series of progressively more potent abilities.
The world of Quicksilver is populated by humans, 3 goblin races (gremlins, goblins, and hobgoblins), and 2 faerie races (sprites and elves). Player characters can be of any of these six races. The population of the land of Seloria is made of both humans and goblins. Humans dominate the land (having conquered the Goblin nation of Sholgutt centuries ago) but strides are being made toward racial integration. The faerie races come from an extradimensional realm, reachable only by mysterious portals that can be found over the Eastern sea.
Quicksilver uses only 10-sided dice. Character statistics are rated from 7 to 13 (for humans), and skills values are found by adding a skill bonus (from +0 to +4 or more) to a base statistic. Skill and statistic checks are made by rolling 2d10. A roll equal to or less than the ability score is a sucess. Any roll of doubles is a critical: doubles on a sucessful roll indicate a critical success, while doubles on a failed roll indicate a critical failure.
Quicksilver includes maps of the known world, with detailed information on the towns and history of Seloria - guaranteed to provide any gaming group with enough adventure hooks to keep a campaign going for years!
