Sephar keeps busy

Demiurge says "You can take over one of the tech staff, sure, if you make your Kyrio resonance roll thing."

Demiurge says "And Jean might have had you doing a monitoring job or report or something that kept you busy yesterday."

Sephar says "Ah. Okay..."

Demiurge says "Okay, Sephar, you're up to date on, well, what was in Hitherby's message."

Sephar peers from Pat's pocket as he's waiting to get into the manager's office and tries to get someone with toolbelt on or looks headed for the backstage area...

<> Sephar rolls the d666 and gets 1 2 CHECK: 1.

Demiurge hms. Sephar, you've spotted someone suitable, who definitely looks like a stagehand.

Sephar then spends most of the morning checking out the setup and systems in the backstage area.

Sephar says "And trying to fit into the job of the person I've got... so as to not be thought too odd."

You say "Okay, Sephar. You've got a reasonable idea of the layout of the place, and of the lighting and sound and mechanical systems."

Demiurge says "Is Sephar paying much attention to the people at the moment, or more to the wiring systems and the like?"

Sephar says "Mostly with the electronics and wiring and fitting in with the tech team, so some attention to the people."

Sephar will also be looking at the other stage hands with an eye to emulate them if it has to take them at sometime.

Demiurge says "Sephar, you notice that the lighting team in particular seems quite prone to arguments."

Demiurge says "Though one man in the team is often busy trying to calm the arguments down."

Demiurge says "Make a Per roll?"

<> Sephar rolls the d666 and gets 2 2 CHECK: 4.

Demiurge says "Actually, Sephar, you notice something a shade odd."

Demiurge says "Perhaps this guy doesn't _mean_ it, but his well-meaning peacemaking comments seem to start as many arguments as they stop."

Sephar grins quietly.

Sephar happily takes part in the argruments as well as the peaceful bits and listens with an ear for the actual words...

Sephar is trying not to be noticed and after a couple hours may swap hosts among the crew, just to keep suspicion floating, then.

Sephar says "And not the 'peacemaker' just in case."

Demiurge says "A sample might be, "Come on, John, I'm sure that Mike didn't mean to say that. It's not as if anybody would seriously think that you believed that kind of rubbish, would they?""

Demiurge says "The "peacemaker" is one called Math Collin. Shortish guy, thin, brown hair, good at his duties, though comments from the others suggest he's fairly new in the job."

Sephar nods.

Demiurge says "Okay. By now it's somewhere in the afternoon."

Sephar grins, "I think, before then I want to deliberately disagree with someone over the results of an eletronics test of one of the sound systems with Math around."

Sephar says "Mildly."

Demiurge says "The other guy stares at you. "Look. See what those readings say? The system is perfectly clear.""

Demiurge says "Math glances across from where he's fiddling with a board of controls for the lights, then back to his work again."

Sephar peers at the readings, "No... that speaker's taking way more power than it should be, and the readings would be the same..."

Sephar says "If the balance was off-center..."

Demiurge says "He leans across and frowns at the readings, then back again. His shoulders bunch with tension. "It's working. It's _all right_. Okay?""

Sephar pushes just a touch. "Well, it's a reading from the central trunk line, not the specific amp feeding that speaker. If you stand out in the house you can hear it... what if we put the sensor on that line...?"

Demiurge says "He bristles. "That'll just overload it. You'll blow half the system.""

Demiurge says "Math wanders across, vaguely. "Anything the matter, guys?""

Sephar says "It's a sensor, it's not another load..."

Sephar shrugs a bit at Math, "Just trying to get the power balance right across the speakers... and I'm not sure it's balanced..."

Demiurge says "Math says, every word sensible, "I'm sure it won't hurt to stick the sensor on it just to give it a try, Mike. Pete's right, we have to be certain about these things. Can't let it slip.""

Demiurge says "Mike snarls something inaudible about laxness, and begins to reset the sensor, movements angry."

Sephar blinks mildly...

Demiurge says "Math hangs around, not quite intruding, as Mike fiddles with the controls. He gives you a quick glance from under his brows."

Sephar watches Mike's motions fairly carefully to make sure that he doesn't do the self-prophecy thing and short something with the sensor to prove himself right and then bring himself up... hrm... this is catching...

<> Demiurge rolls the d666 and gets 5 3 CHECK: 2.

Demiurge says "It is, indeed, seriously catching, Sephar. You are beginning to get more and more anxious that Mike is going to mess something up and blow the whole board. Very much so. How can you trust this guy? Look at how incompetent he is."

Sephar OOC... can I walk away into the audience area? or do perception on wheither or not someone is pushing?

Sephar OOCly isn't that sure what can be done or if he should just play with the feeling...

Demiurge says "You're currently up in the gallery above the stage where the stage lights are, Sephar, so you can't walk away very easily. You can try making a Will roll."

Demiurge says "With your indecent Will. :)"

Sephar grins.

<> Sephar rolls the d666 and gets 5 3 CHECK: 1.

Demiurge says "Hm. You can push away this feeling. You can control it. You can handle it."

Demiurge says "Math's face twists. He mutters something about incompetence, and flounces away to go back to jabbing fiercely at his own board."

Sephar sighs softly and says deadpan, "Thanks, Mike... this'll be worth it."

Sephar then walks away to the afternoon... and likely uses the rat to use the cellphone to ring it for Pat to answer sometime after his conversations...
