Marath is in the kitchen, doing her usual bit with knives and food.
Daimon has escaped the oppressiveness of the Spires to escape to the Halls of Creation, through
which he hopped down the rabbit hole through to.... SISTINE'S! Where there is a Malakite, but
no catepillar.
Daimon does follow Pat down the tether, and wanders into the kitchen. "Hi."
Shannen walks quietly around Sistine's, squinting somewhat as she looks about, frowning
slightly.
Marath says, "Hi," looking up from a salad in the throes of preparation. She smiles. "How's it
going?"
There are some diners in the main body of Sistine's. The kitchen is through a door towards the
back.
Daimon adjusts the jacket of his suit. "It's going straight ahead along the arrow of time, more or
less uninhibited. You?"
Marath says, "Things seem to be hanging together. Tania is coming along very well, now she's
got used to the idea that she is not necessarily automatically having to wriggle beneath the feet
of all angels she meets."
Shannen taps her foot impatiently for a few seconds, looking a little surprised before moving
towards the kitchen entrance, slowly and taking time to look around.
Daimon looks at his shoes. "Are our feet that big?"
Marath says, "It depends on the height of the heels."
Marath glances towards the kitchen door as Shannen comes to it.
Marath says, "Hello, dear."
Daimon says, "Ah true. You are wise." He then walks over to Marath and gives her a hug.
Marath hugs Daimon in return.
Shannen grins slightly as she comes to the door, tapping at the sides before sticking her head all
the way through "Heylo! .. Marath, Daimon! .. where's everyone else? Wow .. I've had a time
.."
Daimon says "I've been oppressed from my nature by the minions of... well, mostly I've just been
oppressed by Pat all day and the goofiness is starting to leak out my pores."
Marath says, "You poor harassed Lilim, you. And you brave busy Mercurian, you."
Marath detaches herself from Daimon, and starts chopping at the salad again, though she watches
the other two.
Daimon smiles and waves at Shannen. "Hey."
Daimon finds a stool to settle on.
Shannen blushes slightly and smiles more "I'm not -that- brave. I'm just.. umm.. determined." and
steps into the kitchen before making her way over to give hugs to those present "Wow, I've
missed everyone so much. How are you two? And poor Daimon has been stuck with Pat all
day?"
Marath says, "I'm fine. I've had a nice peaceful week of it."
Daimon says "I'm always stuck with Pat, mostly because I live with him."
Shannen grins at Marath "Peace is a wonderful thing." She sighs happily and gives more hugs and
then looks at Daimon quizically "Why are you living with Pat? Didn't you have your own
apartment?"
Daimon says "Actually, it's a condominium, but it's in Los Angeles, and I'm pretty much assigned
to DC for the time being."
Shannen nods slowly "Okay.." and then giggles softly "How is Pat taking it? It must be driving
him crazy - any good jokes pulled on him?"
Daimon says "Ummmm.... no."
Marath says, "Daimon works for Eli now, dear. He's gone Bright."
Shannen blinks a bit and takes a small step back, tilting her head as she looks at Daimon, then
grins way big and throws her arms around him in a super tight hug "Oh wow!"
Daimon says "Eep."
Daimon is not sure how to fend off an Mercurian attack.
Marath heads round the other side of the table, and starts carrying dishes outside, with a muttered
admonishment to just carry on without her.
Daimon says "Er, um, I'm glad to see you, too."
Shannen squeezes Daimon for only a few seconds before releasing and stepping back, still
grinning madly. "Wow wow wow wow .. that's such good news, and for Eli. I like him." She
giggles and lets out another happy sigh. She pauses and looks over at Marath. "Oh, my manners.
Do you need any help, Marath?"
Daimon attempts to decrumple his perfectly good black Dominican suit. The tie-dyed t-shirt does
not require de-Shannening.
Marath says, "I can manage just fine, dear. You two chat, or whatever."
Daimon finishes fixing his suit jacket. "Yeah, I like Eli too."
Shannen nods to Marath "Okay .. call if you need anything." and then turns back to Daimon.
"Wow.. so.. how is everyone else? I am soooo sorry I disappeared without saying goodbye. And
have you seen Aron?" She frowns "I expected to find him here."
Daimon says "Aron's around somewhere. He might be up in Heaven, he might be down here. I
dunno, though."
Daimon says "I see Sephar all the time, as he sort of lives in my pocket. And Pat's my partner. I
see Sarah from time to time - it's just been a week. A really amazingly long, weird, funky,
interesting week, but still just a week."
Shannen nods slowly "I know, but I still missed you all so much - you're my friends! .. wow, what
happened? .. oh yeah, that reminds me." She frowns for a moment, thinking.
Shannen says "Novalis mentioned brainwashing? What's that all about?"
Daimon says "Nightmares."
Shannen tilts her head slightly "Nightmares? As in Beleth servitors? Or just really bad
dreams?"
Daimon says "As in it was the Game, Fate, Nightmares, and to some uncertain extent,
Technology. They were grabbing demons, drugging them, and forcing them to be trapped in
dreamscapes while they brainwashed them to accept redemption. It was an ugly scene."
Shannen looks a bit sick "Eww. That's .. .. not very nice. At all. That's just cruel. Why would they
do that, and was it stopped or anything?"
Daimon says "They were framing Prince Kobal with fake renegades and redemption cases. As far
as I know, the production has ended here. And since the premise is gone... it may be stopped,
period. Considering how things have now changed."
Shannen nods slowly, frowning. "That's pretty. Strange. Considering how what was
changed?"
Daimon says "I was told in my debriefing a few hours ago that Prince Kobal has been
released."
Daimon frowns, momentarily.
Shannen hrms softly "Okay. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, and actually, I'm pretty
confused by the whole thing." She grins and gives another hug, but a soft one "I always seem to
disappear at the oddest times.." She tilts her head slightly "Is something wrong, dear?"
Daimon says "The news, when I heard it, didn't make me happy."
Shannen nods slowly and gives another soft hug and a gentle kiss on the forehead. "I'm sorry,
dear. Want to talk about it or drink coffee until we have a huge caffeine buzz and can't talk
straight but can only giggle madly like two crazed fools?"
Daimon says "You can't keep a Creationer from good coffee. I did some trial runs in Heaven
where I bought a mug and sat there and _stared_ at it, but eventually, I had no choice but to drink
it down."
Daimon says "My data might be skewed though, and I may require more data points."
Shannen giggles "You talk like Aron! Aiiiee! Cool, cause when I was down in El South America,
I picked up the best coffee I could find." She sighs a little "It was expensive" and brightens "but
I couldn't resist."
Daimon says "I hope I don't talk like Aron. I'm just not that grumpy."
Shannen grins and shakes her head slightly "He's not -that- grumpy. Well, not when presented
with sizeable amounts of coffee. Definitely must be a Creationer thing. What do you do, now that
you're working for Eli?"
Daimon says "Judgment."
Shannen nods slowly "Judgement? .. That .. is .. not what I expected."
Daimon says "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisiton. Or the normal Inquisition in my case. It's,
well, it's a bit of a story."
Shannen nods slowly "Okay, tell. Curiosity is piqued. Must know."
Daimon says "I'm a Creationer. My nature is Creation. I am, and forever will be, a complete
unbridled goofball. But I work for Judgment. Well, I think I'm still learning, to tell you the
truth."
Shannen smiles "You always will be a goofball. That's why we love you so much. Still learning?
How to work for Judgement?"
Daimon says "Still learning in general, with a focus on Judgment law, yeah."
Shannen nods slowly and frowns "I wanted to, you know, well, see if you could work for
Novalis." She sighs and gives another hug before smiling again "Oh well, I'll survive. It's just so
nice that you're all doing well."
Daimon says "Not for a while, Shannen. Sorry."
Daimon says "Judgment isn't a death sentence. It's just... different. It seems to be doing a good
job at making me happy, so what the heck, you know?"
Liz walks in the door. She's tanned, her red hair lightened a few shades from the sun. She'd be
dusty around the edges but she got a chance to shower and change at the airport.
Shannen smiles more and nods "I know. Oh, I'm not unhappy or anything. I'm like 'Wow!' still.
I'm so happy for you and everything. But I could always wish, you know." She pauses for a
second, then grins in as close to an evil manner as she can come "Think about it .. free coffee and
ice cream and pastries .." before giggling.
Liz says "Daimon! Shannen! Well, this is a surprise."
Daimon gets up off the stool he was sitting on, and runs over, and grabs Liz, and hugs the beans
out of here and kisses her.
Liz *oof* *mmmkissssssssss*
Shannen looks over and grins broadly "Liz! Wow, two" and cuts off as she dodges Daimon "in
one day! How are you, how've you been and everything?"
Daimon kisses Liz back passionately.
Liz is a bit occupied by all the kissing for a bit, but she finally manages, "I'm well, thanks. Just
spent the week flying relief supplies to Brazil."
Shannen blinks.
Daimon says "Wow. Have I mentioned how beautiful you are lately?"
Liz kisses Daimon again. "Not for a week in my presence."
Daimon says "Ah, well, then I have no choice but to make up for lost time."
Liz smiles at Daimon. "You're looking much better."
Liz turns to Shannen. "You too. Did things work out all right?"
Daimon releases Liz from his embrace so she can be sociable.
Liz orbits happily around the kitchen, sniffing this, looking at that, and keeping out of the way of
people doing real work.
Daimon says "It's the suit. Although I'm convinced that chicks dig the notebook. It's all in the
notebook, baby."
Liz gets herself a cup of tea.
Liz laughs softly. "Still working for Judgement, then?"
Daimon says "Lookin' like it's going to be a long haul."
Liz nods. "It'll do you some good."
Daimon says "That's what I thought, too. What doesn't kill ya just comes back to find you with
a better weapon."
Liz 's movements are continuous but very smooth. Somewhat relaxed for her.
Liz says "Mmm, not quite how I'd have put it, but..."
Liz says "So what's the news? I've been out of things for a week. I was just going to check on
things here and then head off to report formally."
Daimon frowns a bit. "Kobal's been freed."
Liz blinks. "Oh."
Liz says "Hmm. Yay for our side. Sort of."
Daimon says "Yeah. Sort of."
Liz says "So have you, ah, heard from him?"
Daimon says "Not yet. I've been in brainwashing all week."
Liz smiles. "Upstairs?"
Shannen shakes her head a little and nods "Things are .. wow, great! now. Well mostly." She
frowns slightly and goes quiet for a little while.
Liz smiles at Shannen. "Sorry about all the trouble the last time I saw you. Things got a little out
of control."
Daimon says "Yup. Pat, you know. Do you know what a week in Heaven with a humorless
Elohite does for your Malakim watching prospects? Let me tell you, he kept chasing me around
withe more stuff to learn."
Liz laughs.
Liz says "I see."
Liz says "There are worse fates, Daimon."
Daimon says "I had to hide in the Glade once. But then I found this really comfy spot on a chair
in one of the arboretems, and I became way too easy to find."
Daimon says "I know. Oh, don't I know."
Liz inhales deeply over a soup pot and sighs. "Mmm. I love it in here."
Liz says "Reminds me of when I was doing cargo in the Mediterranean. Every port's cooking
smelled differently."
Daimon says "It's them good Creation vibes."
Daimon says "Once you get the mojo going, there isn't anything that's gonna stop it."
Liz laughs.
Liz says "Sure."
Daimon says "It's totally true!"
Liz orbits over to Shannen and gives her a hug. "How about you?"
Shannen grins and Liz and shrugs "S'okay. I'm just so happy to see everyone - missed you all
lots." she giggles at Daimon "Don't worry, there'll be plenty of time for Malakim watching." She
pauses "What mojo?" And smiles at Liz "I'm doing okay. Got a tan! I've been in .. guess, guess!
Brazil!"
Liz blinks, then laughs.
Liz says "Oh. No."
Liz says "You should have told me. I'd have given you a ride back."
Liz says "Although if you went via heaven you missed a long, boring flight."
Shannen grins conspiratorially and nods. "I was way too busy and everything. But I took a nice
leisurely flight back - had to stop off in Columbia to get some .. mmmmm .. good coffee. Saving
it for a special occasion."
Daimon says "Brazil? As long as you weren't in the movie BRAZIL, then all is cool."
Liz laughs.
Liz says "Ah, okay."
Liz says "I was flying relief supplies to the folks trying to keep the fires under control. Nasty
flying some of it. Smoke like you wouldn't believe."
Shannen grins over at Daimon "Hey, I -liked- Brazil - the movie. Well, kinda," and then tilts her
head at Liz "Hey, I know about those fires.."
Liz nods.
Daimon says "Yeah, but you might have head your head drilled by Michael Palin instead of being
rescued by a brigade of Robert de Niro lead renegade Heating Engineers."
Liz sniffs her hair dubiously. "I don't think I'll get the smell out for weeks."
Liz says "Michael Palin?"
Daimon says "Yeah."
Shannen grins at Daimon and nods to Liz "I was helping with relief and housing and making
people feel better. Flowery stuff." and nods to Daimon again "Who?"
Liz smiles.
Liz says "Sounds like good work to me."
Daimon says "He was part of Monty Python. He, er, played the Internal Affairs doctor, you know,
the guy who would torture people and then go play with his kids."
Liz says "Oh."
Liz says "Hmm."
Daimon says "He drilled Jonathan Pryce's head at the end of the movie."
Liz says "That's no fun."
Shannen frowns "Eww. Umm. Maybe I'm thinking of a different Brazil?"
Liz says "Well, the real Brazil was nice enough, although the fires weren't, particularly."
Daimon says "Nope. The big dome, the hallucinations - the last half hour of the movie."
Shannen nods to Liz, frowning "Poor people and plants and animals and everything." She sighs
"Helped as much as we could.."
Liz kisses Daimon again. "So, any other news? Intelligence?"
In Daimon's pocket, his cellphone vibrates gently.
Shannen plops onto a stool "I need to run off soon. Sigh. Gotta get back to work at the cafe and
everything - hard running a shop." and watches Daimon quizzically.
Daimon pulls out the cellphone and answers it. "Lightner pizza delivery service."
Terry's voice says, over the phone, "Daimie! Baby! Good to hear your voice at last!"
Daimon . o O ( Oh for God's sake. )
Liz smiles at Shannen. "Yeah. Hard to do business when all this other stuff is going on."
Daimon looks pained. "Hey."
Liz raises an eyebrow as Daimon's expression goes sour.
Shannen bites her lip a little and looks to Liz for a second before returning to watching
Daimon.
Terry says, "Daimie, cutie, we have to talk. I've got big news for you about your Boss! If you
don't know it already, kid."
Daimon says "I knew."
Terry says, "Cool! Well, hey, then we need to talk to set some other stuff up. I've got a line on
some Gamesters, baby."
Daimon says "No, Terry, we don't have to talk. I'm sorry, man."
Terry says, "Hey, Daimie, what's this? Aren't we still friends?"
Shannen mouths "Terry?"
Daimon says "Terry, I'm no longer in need of a publicity agent."
Terry says, "You're shitting me. Your comedy career, down the drain?"
Daimon says "I'm taking a nice long time off. Maybe I'll write."
Terry says, "Look, hey, can't we talk it over a drink? You can bring the earmuffs if you want, but
Daimie, we were friends. You owe me that much."
Daimon sighs. "Don't make this hard. Please?"
Terry says, "Look, does it count for nothing that I put my fucking head on the line for you over
the Kobal thing? Is this what James Bond would do, man?"
Shannen sighs softly at Daimon and makes a motion to get up, before sitting back down again,
frowning.
Daimon says "Don't manipulate me, man. I still consider us friends. I don't think we have a
working relationship any more."
Terry mutters something in which the words Malakim, wings, muscles, and drooling are
audible.
Daimon says "What do you want me to say? Hmmm? What exactly do you want me to tell you.
Tell me that. Tell me what you want to hear."
Terry sighs, "I want to hear you saying you'll meet up with me for a drink, Daimie. Just to drink
and talk."
Daimon says "I'll give that much. I'll meet you for a drink. Just to drink and talk. Any more, and
I can't say what will happen."
Terry says, "Okay. Anywhere but that Italian place with too much garlic."
<
<
Daimon says "I know a coffee shop. Serves excellent coffee. The beans just flew up from South
America, even."
Liz peers at Daimon, eyebrow at full hoist.
Terry says, "Cool, baby. Where and when?"
Shannen grins a little before frowning again and rising from her stool, looking at her watch.
Daimon looks at Shannen. "The coffee shop at.." he fills in the address as best he knows it, "in
an hour, hour and a half."
Shannen nods, whispering corrections if needed and blushing just a wee bit.
Terry says, "Sure, kid. I'll see you there. Anything else?"
Daimon says "No, not really."
Terry says, "Okay. Take care, Daimie." He rings off.
Daimon hangs up, and swears. Then he slides the phone away.
Liz siiighs.
Liz says "So. Coffee with the Balseraph?"
Daimon says "I have to take care of this. I'll have Pat with me, of course."
Liz says "You'll have me with you, if need be."
Daimon says "Sure. I mean, heck."
Daimon says "I'm gonna go find Pat, okay?"
Daimon walks up and kisses Liz.
Liz nods.
Liz kisses.
Liz says "I'll see you at Shannen's coffee shop a little ahead of the meeting."
Daimon says "Nothing is ever easy!"
Daimon says "But I love you."
Daimon kisses Liz again. "Okay."
Shannen smiles at both of them and gives a hug to each "I need to run off. I'll probably be around
the shop. So if you want, I can do your waitressing." and winks "I'll assume you all will want the
Good Coffee?"
Daimon grins. "Well, you can sort of lay back on Quality when it comes to Herr Teraphim, if you
want."
Daimon turns, and then goes into the main dining room to find... *dramatic theme music* The
Partner.
Shannen frowns slightly "He's a guest of yours, so he deserves as much." and grins.
Shannen gives another hug to Liz and follows after "See you all later!"
Liz smiles.
Liz says "Bye, Shannen."
