Getting Together Again, Part II

<<Scene Start>>

<<OOC>> arcangel | Moonshadow keeps running, looking for a suitable place to duck into once she gets away from the police.

<<OOC>> arcangel | Hiram strides quickly after Moonshadow. Having long legs helps here...

<<OOC>> arcangel | There's a pub over there, some back-street looking things here and there, a royal fender-bender that she's leaving behind quickly...

<<OOC>> arcangel | Moonshadow decides a back street sounds like a good idea, at the time or no.

<<OOC>> arcangel | Hiram follows.

<<OOC>> arcangel | A few backstreets later... pursuit doesn't seem to be forthcoming -- or at least not quickly.

<<OOC>> arcangel | Hiram continues after Moon until she actually stops.

<<OOC>> arcangel | Moonshadow has disconnected.

<<OOC>> arcangel | <<OOC>> arcangel says "Well, that's one form of stopping."

Moonshadow stops, then leans against a wall to catch her breath

Hiram stops and waits for a few moments before drawling "Boo."

Moonshadow says "Who"

Hiram says "Not you."

Moonshadow says "Et tu?"

Hiram says "Brute."

Moonshadow frowns. "Fou's gone missing."

Hiram nods. "Yeah, I spotted your missive."

Long distance to Moonshadow: arcangel notes that there had beem art-pencil scribbled notes on walls, hidden in graffiti. Yay Artistry special effects!

Long distance to Moonshadow: arcangel notes this just in case. O:>

Moonshadow says "And I'm still trying to remember all the details," still frowning," because I think I got shot while trying to track him down."

Hiram nods. "Ok. I know I've spotted a couple of Gamesters in the area. I'd have come back sooner, but the First Jacket decided to take away my vision for a bit."

Moonshadow looks at him, then smiles a bit. "I've told you that you ought to shop for new clothes..."

Hiram smiles. "Yeah, I know. It's a shame that I've not come up against any walking clothes stores recently. I've wanted to complete my outfit."

Moonshadow says "You find any leads?"

Hiram shakes his head. "Nope, I didn't. All I found was a Jacket that wanted to be a Lilim, but you know about him. I was looking at your last scribble before my sight went away."

Moonshadow frowns some more. "I think I may be able to work out where I got taken out, if I can just clear more of the cobwebs out..."

Hiram nods. "Then we go from there."

Moonshadow nods.

Moonshadow makes as if to start in that direction, then halts as something occurs to her. "We're going to have to get me a change of clothes first, since I expect that they're going to be looking for the crazy girl who ran away from the cops."

Hiram nods. "Yep, that shouldn't be a problem. We just head into the West End and grab stuff there."

Hiram winks "Or we hit Oxfam..."

Moonshadow nods. "Whichever's closer."

Hiram nods. "Yep. Finding Fou is priority."

<<OOC>> arcangel lets Hiram decide what's closer. O:>

<<OOC>> Maya says "There are usually plenty of charity shops in most shopping nexuses in London."

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Roughly what age is the new vessel?"

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Indeterminate non-late teenaged."

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Probably hit M&S then..."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "M&S?"

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Marks & Spencer, aka Marks & Sparks. Mid range, middleclassish store. Has kids clothes."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Ahhh."

<<OOC>> arcangel bets Marc is amused.

<<OOC>> Hiram grins.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Fast-forward to the store, then?"

<<OOC>> Hiram nods.

<<OOC>> arcangel nods.

<<OOC>> arcangel has NO idea what the thing would look like, and will merely settle for -- you're there.

Hiram heads inside and points Moon towards the teen selection.

The staff, happily, do not appear to be first on the police's on-call list for weird runaway girls who were sleeping in giant backpacks.

Moonshadow makes a beeline for wherever looks to be a good spot for jeans and rugby shirts

Lo, and there are jeans! And over there, rugby shirts.

Moonshadow tries on things until something suitable is found, then leads Hiram to the closest sales counter, sets them down, and says "Thanks, Dad!"

Hiram grumps about the youth of today and how they expect their parents to pay everything for them...

The clerk is sympathetic toward Hiram, since it's always good to be nice to the one with the wallet.

Quickly enough, the clothing is bagged up and receipts handed over.

Hiram smiles and briefly sets the world to rights with the clerk.

Moonshadow makes sure no anti-theft tags are still stuck to the clothes, then heads for a changing room.

Hiram pays as well. Still grumbling. "When you realise that you don't like them next week, remember, you chose them!"

While the staff do keep an eye on Moonshadow when she emerges, it's not a terribly troubled one.

Moonshadow emerges from the changing room with her original outfit stuffed into the shopping bag, which in turn is stuffed into the bookbag.

Hiram waits patiently with a long suffering expression. "Ready now?"

Moonshadow's hair is now pinned up so that it looks different enough from how it was when she came in as to hopefully fool any observer on first glance. "Sure, Dad."

Hiram nods. "Finally. Let's go find Uncle Lou."

Moonshadow heads outside, nodding.

Hiram heads out as well.

Moonshadow then starts looking for a taxi to flag down.

At the moment, no taxi is around, but the street is probably busy enough for that to work. Or one could be called.

Hiram looks at Moon. "Whereabouts were you got?"

Moonshadow rattles off her best recollection of where she was before she got shot

Hiram nods.

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Near a tube station at all?"

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Not really."

Hiram looks for a cab- or a bus heading in the right direction.

A bus trundles into view.

Hiram points it out, then waits for it to stop before hopping on.

Moonshadow follows Hiram on, again saying "Thanks, Dad."

The bus is not as full as it could be, but not as empty as one might like for a full briefing.

Hiram heads for the emptiest spot- usually on the top deck and at the back...

Moonshadow finds the pair of seats on the top level as removed from other passengers as can be found, then sits down and starts describing her pursuit of Fou's abductors as quietly as she can without the wind drowning her out.

<<OOC>> arcangel | Fou-Lou shouting something about noise, lots of noise, and running off. The car that paced him for a while... Her leaving notes for Hiram... Then a van drove up and bundled the Watcher into it. She followed, caught a taxi...

<<OOC>> arcangel | Left her backpack "safely" in an alley.

<<OOC>> arcangel | The taxi followed the van, rather a while, and the Watcher was unbundled at a very seedy looking apartment building. Moonshadow got out, and was working on how to sort things out, when someone... did something painful behind her. Everything went black.

Hiram listens and nods.

Hiram says "Sounds like it could be Gamesters."

Moonshadow nods.

The bus rumbles along.

Moonshadow tries to be an inconspicuous as possible while they wait to reach their destination.

Hiram will briefly describe the most likely Gamester suspect he spotted at South Ken tube.

Moonshadow says "You think he was involved, perhaps?"

Hiram nods. "Entirely possible. I spotted a few dotted around South Ken when I dropped off our new friend at the Science Museum."

Moonshadow frowns

Hiram raises an eyebrow. "What?"

Moonshadow says "Bad implications for the one we were sent to find."

Hiram nods. "Yep. Either that, or they think we've already found them, considering I escorted someone to the Museum."

Moonshadow says "Either way, bad things."

Hiram nods.

(And the bus trundles on, pausing now and then to let people on or off.)

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Fastforward to the getting off spot?"

<<OOC>> arcangel nods.

It's not as close as one might like, alas, but it's at least near some of the streets Moonshadow remembers.

The pair of angels are the only ones who get off at the stop.

Moonshadow looks for any sign of what happened to her previously

Hiram looks around for something resembling a newspaper.

Still, it's getting toward "quitting time," and there are a number of people around.

No one sees any evidence of Gamesters or other foul play.

Hiram carries on looking around. Especially for discarded newspaper or similar.

There are some discarded newspapers here and there, in public bins.

Hiram grabs one.

It is from today. Morning edition.

Moonshadow takes out a couple of paintbrushes, and concentrates on them like Hiram did on his newspaper.

Hiram is an unarmed Malakite of Creation.

Hiram covers Moon and keeps an eye out for suspicious character. (Not including Moon.)

Moonshadow will be sneaking along as best she can.

The alley is, indeed, findable after a bit of discreet wandering around. However, there would appear to be someone reading a paper nearby it.

Moonshadow tries to observe the reader without being obvious about it - does he seem to be watching them or something else, dort of thing.

It would appear to the perceptive eyes of the angels that the person is keeping an eye on just about _everyone_ who goes by the area. He does not seem to have noticed the pair of investigators, though.

This person is tall, a bit on the thin side, with short-clipped medium-brown hair. His face is obscured by the newspaper.

Hiram looks at Moonshadow and raises an eyebrow before saying quietly. "Try for a quick & quiet or avoid?"

You paged Hiram with 'Most noble this week -- caught a Discordant Renegade who was sneaking around! Most ignoble -- failed to capture a Renegade.'.

Moonshadow whispers back "What say we find a way to the other side of the building, and work our way in toward him from there?"

Hiram nods and whispers back. "Good plan. Definate Gamester."

A fade back to other streets... A bit of roundabout stalking... And... The alley does not seem to come out the other end.

Moonshadow says "Damn."

Hiram drats.

Hiram says "Guess we may have to thwack him rapidly then."

Moonshadow nods, replacing the paintbrushes into her bag, then concentrating on it instead.

Moonshadow makes her way back toward the other side of the building, preparing to get a little quick street justice in.

Various people wander around on the sidewalks -- some go into the flats, some pass them by. It would appear that it is currently Going Home time.

Hiram follows along.

Mr. NewsGamester props himself against the wall and fakes reading.

Moonshadow begins treading more carefully as she nears the alley, not wanting to give her approach away

Hiram is just your average person going home.

Moonshadow whispers "Follow my lead" to Hiram, then moves in to attempt a frogmarch of torso guy into the alley.

Hiram follows Moon's lead.

Excerpts

Siadea has connected.

<<OOC>> arcangel reminds everyone that we have other rooms and tables, if need be.

<<OOC>> arcangel snrks!

Hiram shakes his head. "Nope, I didn't. All I found was a Jacket that wanted to be a Lilim, but you know about him. I was looking at your last scribble before my sight went away."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "(And Janus dropped Liriel off on Hiram, but that's not really a lead.)"

Lo, and there are jeans! And over there, rugby shirts.

<<OOC>> arcangel says "(Or something close enough, no?)"

<<OOC>> Hiram nods.

Moonshadow tries on things until something suitable is found, then leads Hiram to the closest sales counter, sets them down, and says "Thanks, Dad!"

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Just because you've gone Bright, that doesn't mean you forget that paying for stuff is something that strictly happens to other people."

<<OOC>> arcangel hopes Hiram has enough cash on him... O;>

<<OOC>> Hiram got more cash at the Lightning tether... O;)

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Ah, good. O:>"

Hiram pays as well. Still grumbling. "When you realise that you don't like them next week, remember, you chose them!"

<<OOC>> arcangel snickers.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Heh."

<<OOC>> Hiram plays up being the 'old codger'.

Moonshadow rattles off her best recollection of where she was before she got shot

Hiram nods.

<<OOC>> arcangel checks some of her notes.

A bus trundles into view.

Hiram points it out, then waits for it to stop before hopping on.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "What time of day is it?"

<<OOC>> arcangel says "It's probably afternoon by now?"

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Even into early evening?"

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Not the Night Bus, then. Drat."

<<OOC>> arcangel snickers.

The bus is not as full as it could be, but not as empty as one might like for a full briefing.

<<OOC>> arcangel says "(But you can always talk quietly and see if anyone hears.)"

Moonshadow finds the pair of seats on the top level as removed from other passengers as can be found, then sits down and starts describing her pursuit of Fou's abductors as quietly as she can without the wind drowning her out.

<<OOC>> arcangel lets Moonshadow do that, or shall she cut and paste notes? O:>

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "If you could C&P, please?"

<<OOC>> arcangel goes digging. O:>

<<OOC>> arcangel says "(Tell me when you want to fast-forward to "closer to the area." Or is Hiram going to talk about Mr. Painter, resonanted upon before Mr. Jacket got to him?)"

<<OOC>> Hiram says "You mean, Mr 'I've not tailed anyone all week'?"

<<OOC>> arcangel nods.

Hiram will briefly describe the most likely Gamester suspect he spotted at South Ken tube.

Still, it's getting toward "quitting time," and there are a number of people around.

<<OOC>> arcangel makes Hiram do another Perception roll?

<<OOC>> arcangel has Moonshadow do likewise.

<<OOC>> arcangel smiiiiiiles.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Curses."

<<OOC>> Hiram whews. Failed, but no II.

<<OOC>> Harle does not make observations about Hiram's status as Lucifer's current Favourite Playtoy.

No one sees any evidence of Gamesters or other foul play.

<<OOC>> Jack says "And watch out for that truck!"

<<OOC>> arcangel snickers.

Hiram carries on looking around. Especially for discarded newspaper or similar.

There are some discarded newspapers here and there, in public bins.

<<OOC>> arcangel presumes that public trash receptacles are ubiquitous.

<<OOC>> Hiram semi ubiquitous. You won't find any in a train station though.

<<OOC>> arcangel huh!

<<OOC>> Hiram points out the whole thing about the IRA etc...

<<JUDGMENT>> Hiram rolls the d666 and gets 2 2 CHECK: 4.

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Check 4, MoC."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "HEE!"

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Don't you still have your cane? Or did you leave it somewhere? O:>"

<<OOC>> arcangel fears the Newspaper of Doom, though.

Moonshadow takes out a couple of paintbrushes, and concentrates on them like Hiram did on his newspaper.

<<GAME>> Moonshadow rolls the d666 and gets 2 3 CHECK: 2.

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Point! Have cane! (That was CD6 methinks... but that's probably worn out by now.)"

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Now you have _two_ weapons!"

<<OOC>> arcangel . o O (Aaaah! He peeled it! Now he has TWO weapons!)

Hiram is an unarmed Malakite of Creation.

<<OOC>> Harle snickers.

<<OOC>> arcangel says "So, what's your plan for discovering where Fou was taken?"

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Going to mill about till Moonshadow finds the alley she was ducked down before she was axed? Or...?"

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Trying to find that alley first, yes."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Taking any precautions against being noticed by your targets?"

Hiram covers Moon and keeps an eye out for suspicious character. (Not including Moon.)

<<OOC>> arcangel snickers!

<<OOC>> arcangel asks for Stealth or some other plausible roll from those attempting such?

Moonshadow will be sneaking along as best she can.

<<JUDGMENT>> Hiram rolls the d666 and gets 6 3 CHECK: 6.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Have Move Silently, so will roll that."

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Is not stealthing, just keeping an eye out."

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Made, btw."

<<OOC>> arcangel whews. O:>

<<OOC>> arcangel waits for people to bend their resonances upon the hapless loiterer.

<<GAME>> Hiram rolls the d666 and gets 5 3 CHECK: 2.

<<OOC>> Hiram says "Only check 2, seeing as you insisted. O;)"

<<OOC>> arcangel snrks.

<<OOC>> arcangel gets the CD table.

<<OOC>> Oyvind waves!

Moonshadow nods, replacing the paintbrushes into her bag, then concentrating on it instead.

<<GAME>> Moonshadow rolls the d666 and gets 1 5 CHECK: 6.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "As befits a honkin' big bag such as itself."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "That is the Bag of Thwack."

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "There is pain in that bag, and I am bringing it."

<<OOC>> Hiram grins.

Moonshadow begins treading more carefully as she nears the alley, not wanting to give her approach away

<<GAME>> Moonshadow rolls the d666 and gets 2 5 CHECK: 1.

Hiram is just your average person going home.

<< GAME >> Arcangel rolls the d666 and gets 6 1 CHECK: 5

Hiram pages: Emote roll for that? Or Move Silent?

<<OOC>> arcangel rolls privately. Mmm-hm.

You paged Hiram with 'Move Silently if you're stalking _him._ Emote if you don't want other people to notice you're stalking him.'.

Hiram pages: Not stalking him, just don't want it to be obvious to all and sundry that he's about to unleash God's Righteous Creative Wrath.

Hiram pages: Lacking in Move Silently anyways...

Moonshadow makes her way along, all nonchalant . . . up til she brings the bookbag around in an arc toward newsreaderguy's head.

You paged Hiram with 'Probably Emote is your best bet.'.

<<GAME>> Moonshadow rolls the d666 and gets 1 3 CHECK: 1.

Hiram pages: Have TN 11 for that, if you want to roll.

<<OOC>> arcangel reminds Moonshadow that this is a public street, and there is a chance even humans will see this.

You paged Hiram with 'Gimme a roll, sure.'.

<<JUDGMENT>> Hiram rolls the d666 and gets 5 4 CHECK: 2.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Good point. She'll duck into the alley before swinging."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "He's not actually in reach of the alley. He's _near_ it, not in it."

Hiram pages: Not especially brilliant, but not a fail.

You paged Hiram with 'It'll do.'.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Ah."

<<OOC>> arcangel makes ascii map. ----X---6ftorso---|alley|

<<OOC>> Moonshadow rewinds the last couple seconds.

<<OOC>> EDG mm, ASCII.

<<OOC>> *fwziiiiiiiip*

<<OOC>> BRRRRRRZIP!

<<OOC>> arcangel giggles.

<<OOC>> EDG tries to remember which object does +fwho.

<<OOC>> arcangel smacks her face.

<<OOC>> arcangel says "That's 6 ft or so, not 6f torso."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "The X is the target."

<<OOC>> arcangel warns, btw, that she is becoming more and more kidstracted.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Still planning on frogmarching him along to where an unobtrusive beating can be arranged. :)"

<<OOC>> arcangel snickers.

<<OOC>> Hiram nods.

<<GAME>> Moonshadow rolls the d666 and gets 2 6 CHECK: 3.

<<OOC>> arcangel has a kid lolling all over her, and her expensive headphones are endangered. Must pause at the cliffhanger.

<<OOC>> Hiram nods. Ok.

<<OOC>> Moonshadow says "Fair enough. :)"

<<OOC>> arcangel sorries!

<<Scene Stop>>

Hiram shrugs. It happens.

arcangel sorries!
