Please forgive the way the characters get bigger -- that's just how I
write anything, really...
I think the two horizontal lines on either side of the T with the
line and dots over it are dashes ("-"), but of course I'm not
sure...
Pronunciation: Kya-ra-ku-taa Dee-ta
Nick says: ``Character Data-- the reason these characters are so angular
and neat compared to the others is that they're in katakana, the syllabary
used to write foreign (ie non-Japanese and non-Chinese) loan words.''
Hunter says: ``I just started going through your Runal Saga pages. On the
CharacterSheet.html page, your jpg seems to be missing a character. You
have: 'kyarakuu deeta' instead of: 'kyarakutaa deeta.' The 'ku' and the
'ta' look a lot alike -- the 'ta' has an extra stroke. The two horizontal
lines on either side of the T with the line over it are indeed dashes --
they make whatever vowel sound they follow longer (de -> dee, ta ->
taa, ku -> kuu). BTW, the two "dots" over the T with the line
over it are diacritics, in this case turning 'te' into 'de'.''
Then he says: ``[Correction] Character: It's 'kya ra ka taa', not 'kya ra
ku taa'.''
