"Magery"?

Or "Magical Aptitude"? As you can see, the slant is back with a vengeance.

ma-doh-ryo-ku: Magic Power (Level or Strength).

Interestingly enough, in the anime Tenchi Muyo! ("No Need For Tenchi" is one of the English translations), there are two characters, Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki, whose names (I've found on the Web) mean "Demon-caller" and "Great Emperor Demon," respectively. (Ryoko is an obnoxious but cute humanoid female, and Ryo-ohki is a shapechanger -- alternating between a tiny "cabbit" who mews and loves carrots, and a nifty-looking starship.)

Is this the same "ryo" that apparently means "demon"? I shall have to ask...

(And for those who worry, remember -- these are Japanese demons; if your religion worries about demons at all, these "demons" aren't even real, 'cause they're not part of that religion... Right?)

Tim Soholt says: ''Second, whoever gave you the term for "magery" apparently didn't look at the word you wrote; I couldn't read all of it, but it's something-or-other "reberu," or "level." ''
