Clint was whelped July 6, 2001. Pat Crockett of Keemaka Labradors graciously consented to handle a breeding of their mom, Lulu, to FC-AFC Teddy's Ebonstar James (click on Jamie for larger picture). Jamie is out of two-time National Amateur Field Champion and two-time Canadian National Amateur Field Champion Ebonstar Lean Mac and has competed in three Nationals -- Jamie was one of the finalists in the 2001 National Amateur in Minnesota, quite a feat for a dog who was not yet 4 years old. He was also a finalist in the 2002 National Amateur. Pat handled the breeding which was done using semen shipped from Kentucky to Houston, then kept Lulu through the whelping and raising of the litter.

Clint is our fourth generation of master hunters. He passed his first Junior Hunter test near Nolanville, TX on March 30, 2002. He earned both his WC (working certificate) and WCI (working certificate intermediate) titles at the Heart of Texas Labrador Retriever Club tests held on May 19, 2002. He completed the requirements for his Junior Hunter title at the Brazosport Retriever Club test held September 28, 2002. He completed the requirements for his Senior Hunter (SH) title at the Coastal Bend Retriever Club test on May 4, 2003, then qualified in his first master test in Oklahoma in June, 2003. He earned his WCX (working certificate excellent) at the HOTLRC test held November 14, 2004. Clint earned his Master Hunter title at the Heart of Texas Retriever Club test April 1-2, 2006. He has a reserve judges award of merit in the Qualifying stake in his two tries at that venue.

Clint has also run in HRC tests, completing the requirements for his HRCH (Hunting Retriever Champion) title on May 22, 2005 after passing all the tests he entered. On November 13, 2006, he completed the requirements for his Upland Hunter title, passing all 4 of his upland hunt tests.

In his first agility trial, Clint earned two 1st places in Novice Standard as well as two 1st places in Novice Jumpers. He completed both his novice titles the first day at his next trial with two more 1st places. 6 for 6...all 1st places! Moving up to Open the next day, he got 1st place in his first Open Jumper run and completed the OAJ title on June 11, 2005. He completed his open standard title (OA) on March 18, 2006. Clint earned his AX and AXJ titles on the same day, May 13, 2006, at the Lone Star Eskimo agility trial. He got 1st place in Excellent A Standard and 2nd place in Excellent A Jumpers With Weaves. Clint completed his MX (Master Excellent) title with a 2nd place in excellent standard on March 30, 2007 and completed his MXJ (Master Excellent Jumper) title on May 12, 2007. Clint has normal eyes and gets a CERF exam annually. His elbows are OFA normal and his hips are OFA excellent, ranking higher than the 90th percentile with PennHIP. He has been tested to be genetically clear of CNM.
