Luna was whelped July 6, 2001. Pat Crockett of Keemaka Labradors graciously consented to handle a breeding of theirmom, Lulu, to FC-AFC Teddy's Ebonstar James (click on Jamie for larger picture).Jamie is out of two-time National Amateur Field Champion and two-time Canadian National Amateur Field Champion Ebonstar Lean Mac -- Jamie wasone of the finalists in the 2001 National Amateur in Minnesota,quite a feat for a dog who was not yet 4 years old. He was also a finalist at the 2002 National Amateur.Pat handled the breeding which was done using semen shipped from Kentucky to Houston, then kept Lulu through the whelping and raising of the litter.

As of this writing, Luna is coming along well in her basic training and will be campaigned in field events as her skills progress. Luna passed her first Junior Hunter test near Nolanville, TX on March 30, 2002. She earned her WC (working certificate) title at the Heart of Texas Labrador Retriever Club test held on May 19, 2002 and her Working Retriever Excellent (WCX) at the HOTLRC event held November 13, 2005. She completed the requirements for her Junior Hunter title at the Brazosport Retriever Club test held September 29, 2002 and finished her Senior Hunter title at the Alamo Retriever Club test held October 5, 2003. She has 4 of the necessary 5 legs for her Master Hunter (MH) title.

Luna has also been running some HRC (Hunting Retriever Club) tests and completed her HRCH (Hunting Retriever Champion) title on June 4, 2005. She has also earned her HRC Upland Hunter (UH) title.

In limited agility trialing, Luna earned her Novice Agility Jumper (NAJ) title with all placements and two of the three legs necessary for her Novice standard title.

Luna has OFA normal elbows and OFA good hips. Her hips are in the 80th percentile (better than 80% of Labs measured) according to PennHIP. She has no evidence of congenital disease and her eyes are CERF'd annually. She has been tested to be genetically clear of CNM. Luna was bred in 2007 to CH MACH PROSPECT'S SLAM DUNK MH UD MXP3 MJP3 (Kobe) a yellow dog who has his conformation and agility championships as well as the highest level titles in retriever hunt tests and obedience.
