Yoda was whelped 5-7-97 as part of an unplanned line breeding. Tresha grew too fond of him to let him leave home. Although he was the runt of the litter, even to the age of 4 months, his weight has gone as high as 94 pounds and he is constantly fighting a weight problem. The picture above shows him the day he got the last qualification for his Junior Hunter title.
He earned his Working Certificate at the HOTLRC (Heart of Texas Labrador Retriever Club) test held on March 19, 2000 and his Working Certificate Intermediate at the HOTLRC test on November 12, 2000. He completed his Junior Hunter title at the Alamo Retriever Club test on April 22, 2001. He earned his Canine Good Citizen certificate at a test held on June 7, 2000 and is now working in agility training with Tresha. Although he does have some issues with indoor crowds and noise, he completed his Novice Agility Jumper (NAJ) title on September 1, 2002 at the Triple Crown facility in Hutto, after getting a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in Novice Jumpers over the Labor day weekend. He got his first Open jumper leg with a first place at the Labrador Retriever Club national specialty in Sturbridge, MA, in October 2002. Yoda completed his NA (Novice Agility) title at the Cypress Creek trial on February 1-2, 2003 with 1st place in Novice B on both days. He followed that up with another good trial in San Antonio the weekend of March 7-9, 2003, finishing the Open standard (OA) and Open jumper (OAJ) titles and earning his first excellent jumpers leg with first place in Excellent A. He finished his Excellent jumper title (AXJ) with two legs earned at a trial April 19-20, 2003. He finished his Excellent standard title (AX) with a 1st and 2nd place at Victoria, TX in January, 2004. The following two pictures show Yoda doing a couple of agility obstacles.
Like his sire Willie, Yoda was getting bored with retirement. Tresha began training him for Rally Obedience in the summer of 2006. In 3 straight trials, including 2nd place on his last entry, Yoda earned his Rally Novice (RN) obedience title. His sire Willie was also 3 for 3 at those trials to earn his RN as well.
