THE TONANCÍN SERIES

Tonancín
is the name for the Aztec Corn Goddess whom the Spanish incorporated
into the Catholic Church as Our Lady of Guadalupe. She is the
embodiement of the indigenous influence on Mexico and is revered
as their Patron Saint. Her popularity extends to Canada and
she is also celebrated as the Goddess of the Americas.
