I seem to have forgotten to read this one. I'll have to go back and catch up.
Soldier's Live
I just started this last book in the series. I skipped the last one, so I've missed some of the events leading up to the present. The Company is currently returning from the shadowlands to face Soulcatcher and Naryan Singh (and Booboo, Lady and Croaker's daughter). Croaker is actually made it to Khatovar, though after 400 years, there is no connection between the Company and it's origin. Almost disappointing, in a way, but not really.

Review

The Black Company series chronicles the travels of a band of mercenaries as they are caught up in world changing events. They do no little part to change these events. The books are written from the viewpoint of the various Annalists of the Black Company and are universally sarcastic and irreverent.

If you read any more of this, expect spoilers...

While there's something for everyone, one of my favorite sub-plots is the developing romance between Croaker, the soft-hearted ruthless mercenary, and Lady, the soft-hearted evil sorceress-empress. All of the characters are great, though none of them are particularly good.

For some reason, there isn't much information available on the Black Company books. The following links lead to other sites as well, though most just contain lists of the books, like mine. Maybe I should work on rectifying that shortage...
