A brilliant piece of work. Fairly different from Snow Crash and better in many ways. This book really shows how good Mr. Stephenson is at explaining relatively complex topics in a very simple and entertaining manner. The chapter on Turing machines, while perhaps a little long, was fascinating. Neal Stephenson should be writing textbooks; if he did, students might actually enjoy reading them.
