Roger Zelazny (1937-1995)
The world lost one of its greatest authors when Roger Zelazny died. He has produced a number of really excellent books that draw you into them. He has a particular talent for making awesomely powerful beings into down-to-Earth people you can relate to. He is most well known for writing the Amber series, but I thought some of his other works were better. Unfortunately, some of his latter works were writing with or finished by Jane Linskold and were not quite up to his usual standard.
- Donnerjack
- By Roger Zelazny and Jane Lindskold
Roger Zelazny was one of the greatest writers ever. I deliberately did not qualify that with "science fiction." I haven't read anything else by Jane Lindskold, so I don't know much about her on her own, but Donnerjack is a really good book. It even surprised me in a couple of places. This book melds cyberspace and the varioius spirit worlds of mythology and creates a gripping story. I was sad when it ended and again when I realized that there would be no more.
