How to measure and Mark a Heater for SCA shield use.

Decide where you want the curve.

Mark the bottom center of your blank (which should already be precut to length)(Point B)

Mark the point on the shield where you want the curve to start (anywhere from 1 foot form bottom to the very top edge) (point A)

(I used to prefer about 18” from the top edge)

Draw a line between these two points. (Line C)

Measure to the center of the line

Draw a line perpendicular to this line heading away from the center of the shield (Line D)

Measure out along this line how much you want the curve to be (not less than 2” in IMHO) (to point E)

Hold a yardstick (metal is better, but wood works) at the two endpoints and bend it till it touches the mark on the perpendicular line, this should make a nice even curve if you are applying the force evenly.

Trace along the inside edge if the curved yardstick (it’s easier)(it’s best to get a help here but you can do it yourself, to do easily it requires about 4 hands.))

(Curve F)

Bam there you are
