People placing solicitations on my mailbox, or front door. (added 13 July 2002)

I don't care what the cause, candidate, service, or product; the fastest way to turn me off is to place your literature on my mailbox or anywhere on the exterior of my house (usually the front door). I consider this to be litter and, as such, unsightly. I also consider this a threat to my family's safety as this allows people to know if I'm gone for an extended period of time. I'm particularly offended by the perpetrator who, when called, can't understand how anyone wouldn't want their stuff hanging on the mailbox.
