Manhatten Borough President and all-around liberal looney Ruth Messinger has finally been certified as the Democratic nominee to face NYC Mayor Rudy Guiliani in November. However, the bruising primary and the aborted run-off election sapped Messinger of much of the funds she will need to took on the popular emcumbent, who purportedly has millions of dollars at his disposal.
The Messinger campaign people brainstormed ways to both raise the necessary funds and well as reach out to the community to let them know who she is and what she stands for.
"That's it!" cried Messinger. "Get Al Gore and we can do both!"

Today's joke has been pre-empted. Actually, last week, this would have been a joke. But over the weekend, it happened. It was announced that Al Gore will come and campaign for this hopeless candidate. Hillary already has.
