When asked recently about the marriage penalty , President Clinton said that he was all for getting rid of it. He didn't think the marriage penalty was fair and it placed an unfair burden on people.
A presidential aide then informed Mr. Clinton that the marriage penalty was higher taxes, not monogamy.
