Well, I played Guardians at GenCon this weekend, and got my free deck (YAY!). I even won the rare "ante" card for the matchup....:) All in all, I've got to say that this is one heck of a fantastic game, and I'll be shoveling out vast piles of money when it's released.
After a friend of mine got his free deck, we sat down and played a game ourselves and had a blast, although we had two questions pop up....
1. The guardian he had, I can't remember the name, but it's subtitle was "Leader with foresight", has the ability to draw cards from underneath it's up card. Now, what happens to the existing upcard? Do you discard it, put it under the deck, or use it as your new upcard?
2. Esthetics time: What, exactly, is the "Babe Hound"? Our best guess is that he's(?) a sort of pimp who distracts the opposing forces with his girls, but.....
One last question I just thought of....Can you use standard bearers that don't match your sheilds?
Other than that, we really didn't find anything confusing about the game, and had a wonderful time playing it. Although, I must say that simply grabbing people who are walking by to get players may not have been the best approach. The kid who played against my friend had no interest whatsoever in the game, and spent his time looking around at the displays. To add insult to injury, they had to roll off to find the winner (they were giving away a pencil sketch by one of the artists), and the kid won. When they handed him the sketch, he looked like he had just been handed a napkin or something. Then he quickly picked up his stuff and left. I don't think he said a single word the whole time he was there. Ah well, excellent game anyway!

Well it was nothing like that when i walked by the booth. we had to wait quite a while to play. And all seemed interested, etc....
We got our free decks too (yay!) I
i think it just might be more fun to play with a starter than to construct a deck. guess we'll have to see...
The babe hound has that ability remember, he gets to keep the babes after using that card, or something similar (there are other hounds like him) after using a bribe card (beer, money or babes) they are discarded.
Not sure about the top card with that guardian. I would guess that the top card stays there...because otherwise it would say discard and draw, but instead it says draw from underneath it... have fun

Got one of those weird feeds and can't find the original questions, anyone care to repost or send 'em?
In article (40p79g$fn9@newsbf02.news.aol.com), rader73@aol.com says...

after using a bribe card (beer, money or babes) they are discarded.
this answer sounds right
Editor's Note: Actually, he's thinking of the Pig Dog.

If this is what i think its about, then the Up-card remains on top til next turn(or as many turns as you want). You can thus lock in a low up card or a high one, and take advantage of the benefits.
You CANNOT choose to refuse this card. It is either taken as the first card of the draw or left on top!!!
Editor's Note: This is why Joe was replaced as netrep. This ruling was quite off. According to the FAQ, when using Tes Let, you must discard your top card if you choose not to take it.
