Presidential Logo Critique: A Rebuttal
Andrew linked to this critique of the presidential logos in the New York Times by Paula Scher. It seems to fall into a pattern of the press raking Kerry over the coals for minor mistakes while giving Bush a pass on grievous errors. To start with, the image washes out the colors in the Kerry logo and pumps up the contrast on the Bush logo. Then she equate boldness with strength. Ugh! A major typo in the Bush logo is glossed over. Double Ugh!
Below is a hasty rebuttal.
The accompanying editorial also complains about the inconsistent use of the Kerry Logo. Oh yeah? Well, what do you call this?

First Post-Debate Presidential Poll
From Newsweek Oct 3, 2004, a poll of 1,013 registered voters.
These numbers are from the first post-debate poll. (The photo they are using of Bush is a little merciless.)
It's odd to me that they report the results in prose, with the margin of error in a footnote. I think a reader could absorb the same information, more accurately, more memorably, and an order of magnitude faster in the above format.
