Good afternoon and welcome to Dylan Northrup's Home Page

Senior Consultant, BusinessEdge Solutions

Links you can blame me for

Here's a list of links to things I've done and are currently working on.

History of me

I am a computer geek in Atlanta, GA.

I work for BusinessEdge Solutions. Before that I worked for Loudcloud/EDS as a System Administrator. Prior to Loudcloud, I worked for Integratus as a Field Engineer doing HA software installs. I joined the company on the recommendation of a couple of friends of mine who worked for the company. I learned a lot about several different types of installs and became an HA guru in six short months :-)

In Spetember 1999, I moved to Atlanta and started working for the Systems Group at Mindspring as a Systems Engineer. I worked with the Mail team and did systems administration for the Mail servers, helped with the interactive shell accounts and IRC.

At the NWE, I was one of two administrators for five labs of Xterminals along with the associated twelve or so AIX servers. I also did perl programming, C hacking, wrote documentation, helped out the occasional student, and generally was a helpful guy. It was a thankless job but I did get donuts every Thursday morning and there was a nice soda machine filled with Cherry Coke less than 50 metres away.

Prior to that I worked as a cable and desktop monkey, webmaster and lab monitor/junior SA. What a long, strange trip it's been. The details are all summarized in my resume

And a page which says why the above could make me the perfect guy for you ladies

"Easy to bitch, easy to whine
Easy to moan, easy to cry
Easy to feel like there ain't nothin' in your life
Harder to work, harder to strive, hard to be glad to be alive
But it's really worth it if you give it a try" - Cowboy Mouth, Easy

"Forget about likes and dislikes. They are of no consequence. Just do what must be done. This may not be happiness, but it is greatness." - Shaw
