The following is the most current text for the Alliance cards which was announced on 14 December 2001 and went into effect on 17 December 2001:
"On the war-torn North American continent of Rifts® CCG, the predominant nation-states have coalesced into two informal camps. The Coalition States, Free Quebec, and Cyberworks, the three nations most embodying the human civilization of the Time Before the Rifts, have won initial devastating victories over their adversaries. Among the other nations, only Lazlo has managed to inflict a counter-punch to the so-called "Champions of Humanity" and Cyberworks.
In-fighting among the other nations has not completely halted, but there are increasing reports of cooperation among camps that were formerly bitter rivals. Additionally, those nations that embrace magic and D-Bees have managed to manipulate the Xiticix hordes into working for their benefit. (Or, perhaps, the Xiticix have manipulated them.)
In the secret military facilities beneath Chi-Town, human supremacist generals insist that they will still prevail. "This cooperation among the inhuman rabble cannot possibly last," General Ross Underhill flatly stated. In Free Quebec and the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, however, there is increasing interest in the massive high-tech forces of the New German Republic, across the Atlantic Ocean. Perhaps the NGR's war machines, unmatched by North American science, can annihilate the forces of magic once and for all. But as contact with the NGR increases, so too do the forces opposed to human supremacy make their first tentative overtures to the Gargoyle Empire."
The following new text replaces the text as it appears in Rulebook V1.0 on page 16. Please inform your players that all tournaments run starting the 17th of December now use the following rules for Alliance of Science and Alliance of Sorcery:
