This is the album cover. Leather with brass clasp.

Oh yes, that album was in an old trunk that Granddad DuBose had; Aunt Katie never had it as far as I know. After he died and Dad decided to fill in the cellar, he threw that trunk into the cellar hole. Jackie and I had begged to go through it first, but Dad was afraid we would get tuberculosis that we think his mother had (she spent some time in a sanitarium), so he wouldn't let us. When he threw the trunk in, the lid popped open, and that album fell out. That was the only thing Dad would let us get. He let Jackie jump in and get it. We all decided that since you are the direct "DuBose" descendant, that you should have it.

If you ever decide you want to put it somewhere other than with your direct descendants, we might see if the South West Collection or maybe some other "Southern" museum or library would catalog it and keep it for future viewing by anyone (family included). However, before that happens, I am hoping that we will be able to identify the people. It could be of the Smith family who had plantations before the Civil War or it could have been the Morgans or Pitts, as well as the DuBoses. Do you have the web page ready for us to look at? Thanks for sending the DuBose web site.
