I've chosen to link with Amazon.com because I believe they deliver excellent customer
service, are extremely reliable, and truly have a global spirit when they conduct their
business. Amazon.com was mentioned in a recent article as being one of the few American
business websites equipped to handle requests from non-USA customers. I have also
been EXTREMELY impressed with their selection, and their ability to deliver hard-to-find
titles.
English translation for Puffin Books by Elizabeth Portch and
Thomas Warburton. Moomintroll and Sniff travel to an Observatory on a
Lonely Mountain to find out if a coment is coming to
destroy the Earth on October 7th at 8:42 pm. (Possibly
four seconds later.) On their journey they meet up with
the solitary traveler Snufkin, The Snork, and the Snork
Maiden. (1946)
After waking from their winter nap, the Moomin family
discovers the Hobgoblin's Hat and magical adventures
ensue. The Hemulen finds a new hobby, and the Moomin
family discovers the Hattifatteners' Island. Special
appearance by Thingumy and Bob, and the Groke.
Momminpappa himself writes the story of his childhood.
He tells of Sniff's father (the Muddler) and Snufkin's
daddy (The Joxter). Along with Hodgkins, they build a
houseboat, encounter Niblings, have a great sea voyage,
and meet the Mymble family. Moominpappa becomes a Royal
Outlaw Colonist, attends the Muddler's wedding and, of
course, meets Moominmamma. (1952)
A volcano erupts somewhere, sending a tsunami that
floods Moominland, and the Moominhouse. The Moomins have
to find a new play to stay until everything drys out, and
they take to a floating theatre and put on a play.
(1954)
Moomintrolls usually hibernate during the winter, from
November to April. But one winter poor Moomintroll just
couldn't sleep and was terribly lonely in the quiet,
dust-covered Moominhouse. So he went outside...
(1957)
Moominpappa's feeling uneccessary and old. It's time
to do something new and exciting. A lighthouse is waiting
for him on a tiny rocky island, so the Moominfamily
moves. But their new island home is mysterious....
