Yediot Aharonot reports (November 21, p. 1) that Avishai Raviv sought and received approval from his handlers in Israel's General Security Service (GSS) to set up his extremist EYAL group two years ago. The report notes that the GSS set up the group with the intent of assisting it in gathering information on right-wing extremists. The report states that the establishment of EYAL was approved by Prime Minister Rabin personally, as well as by various other officials in the Ministry of Justice. Yigal Amir, the assassin who murdered Rabin, was a member of the EYAL group.

The report also states that it was indeed Raviv who was responsible for circulating the poster of Rabin dressed in a Nazi uniform at an anti-government rally in October. The Israeli opposition has demanded that an inquiry be conducted in order to determine whether the GSS was therefore involved in provocations against opponents of government policy.

The paper also reports (November 21) that Avishai Raviv is said to have incited Amir to kill the Prime Minister. The paper states that 7 female students at a school in Kedumim said that several months ago, they attended a rally in Samaria. At the rally, Amir is said to have boasted that he planned to kill the prime minister. The girls assert that Avishai Raviv, the GSS's operative, then mocked Amir, saying, "You are just talking. We'll see, bigshot." Sarah Eliash, principal of the school, told Yediot Aharonot, "If Yigal Amir murdered, it is because Avishai Raviv incited him."
