Maariv reports (28 April) that in the police investigation of the Labor Party- Histadrut corruption scandal, state witness Uzi Passa's testimony and personal diary have implicated Labor Party Secretary-General Nissim Zvilli. According to Passa, Zvill knew that the Histadrut's Education and Culture Works was improperly doing work on behalf of the political campaign of Histadrut chair Haim Haberfeld, and that Zvill approved the work. Haberfeld, who was locked in a losing battle to keep his position, is now under investigation by the police. He was interrogated yesterday, for the second day in a row, concerning charges that he diverted Histadrut money to fund his personal political campaign.
