The Deadly Sinners
After your narrow escape from the Gorgon, you now have two Stars
of Palestine! But which is the real one?
You enter a room with three lost souls. One is chained to a rack, stretched
painfully by two heavy sacks of gold. One sits disconsolately before a mirror,
horribly disfigured. One wanders about, trying to remove a multitude of
knives stuck in his back. Your guide explains that these souls were laid
low by their greed, vanity, and deceit. The deceiful soul offers a riddle
explaining which of the gems is the true Star of Palestine, but the guide
decries his advice. Deceit claims repentance, but becomes angered at the
servant. Grabbing a knife from his back, he attacks you, driving you from
the room.
