What's up with Jeff?
Currently I'm heavy into gaming, mostly a very outstanding paper-and-pencil roleplaying game called GURPS, but not exclusively. I run objective and neutral rules, tempered by a subjective and biased (biased in favor of the mutual entertainment of all involved) mediator known as the GM.
I've also been known to code on occasion.
What I'm running:
-
JeffOps 2250: A futuristic BlackOps game, with numerous, numinous layers.
What I'm playing:
-
KidOps 2199 The children of the JeffOps characters voyage to Earth in search of higher education, but the real world continues to intrude.
What's not being run anymore:
-
ThadOps 2267, aka Federation Marshalls. A motley band of mutants, cyborgs, and psionic cross-dressers who seek to defend the galaxy from evil wizards who hide in luggage compartments.
-
A Very Bad Place is a special pick-up GURPS game for favorite characters and is still shrouded in secrecy, but essentially, everyone goes to hell and tries to get out. You can read more about it here.
-
GURPS Traveller where I play a pilot, as usual. Recently, we infiltrated Disney's World to recover a royal family member kidnapped from Regina during a costume party. They got away after shooting the Love Boat out from under us. I suspect Zhodani involvement, the Pirates of the Carribean were just too lifelike. GM: The Referee Formerly Known As Steve.
-
IOU Time Cops Ronnie Vomit and friends seek to round up or at least move along time-traveling troublemakers and provide new opportunities for the team jock to get laid. GM: The Referee Formerly Known As Steve.
-
Pyramids in Space, a peculiar game of the refugee civilization formerly of Earth exploring a new galaxy, run by Thad McDonald. Recently the game has entered a Kirbyesque super-science phase. I played Cdr. Roy Fosse.
-
Apprentices Abroad, my 100-point campaign where everyone was apprentices to various trades in Tredroy going on a long caravan trip. And they all went for it, can you imagine that? Garon playing a completely mundane teamster put it utterly beyond the pale. You can see the campaign prospectus here.
-
Bubba Tightly, a pretty exciting, retro 1st Edition AD&D game run by Thad McDonald. Set mostly in the chilly subarctic regions of an unspecified kingdom, we're currently taking a break from exterminating a plague of ghouls in the Underdark by helping fortify a border area for the recently-started war.
-
WCSA Adjustors, my oldish Champions game that went from 1989 to about 1992. Currently looking to revive it, there are two periods for play: the tail-end of the eighties, both chronolgically and culturally, and a contemporary, current-events game. I'm currently in the process of GURPS-ifying this in hopes of attracting new players, you can read about it here.
