A bit about myself
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
So you want to know a bit about my life.
I'll skip what I know about my past lives and start with this one as even
I'm not certain if what I think I remember is just my imagination.
I was born on July 24th, 1973 in Glen Cove, Long Island, NY. Fleeting memories of fishing
and brief Indiana flatlands, crib memories. I moved to
Illinois at a very young age, to a small town 80 miles west of Chicago.
My first cat followed us from NY by itself, having run away a month before we moved,
and showed up with one of its legs torn up.
Had to get it amputated. The cat was still fast. No name, just cat.
A small farm town. Doctor and run away from the orphanage with the neighbor girl.
Secret attic alcoves, sandbox with corn growing within. Neighborhood bullies, my
friends. Secret initiations of harmless torture. Star wars and GI Joe propelled
from the clothes-line; exploded with firecrackers. No bicycle; unwanted.
Pine cone wars. Advanced classes. Dreams of paleontology. Atari 2600, C64.
Muppets, Mtv, spacious state parks, camping, bonfires. Singing, piano lessons,
oboe. Sober childhood. Typical crush and letdown. A move to pittsburgh after
freshman year of hanging out at the bowling alley playing bubble bobble and the
legend of kage, without telling anyone of my departure. Long past refusing to
attend church from obvious corruption and realization of the rebellious effect
of years of forced attendence, yet seeds of religious curiosity planted.
My father's non-denominational ministry brought us to this former steel-town.
High IQ and late testing invited a bitter unappreciation of schooling.
Formed a role-playing group, which comprises the
beginnings of the Aspects crew; now my transhumanist party family and closest friends.
Got into writing, opened up by getting involved
with my first real girlfriend. Many bitter relationships later, around the time of the next
major chapter in my life, I became celibate for a time to focus on more important matters, namely
psychadelics and the underground scene, which progressed into the local rave scene. I'm proud
to have played a part in its beginnings here. Tribal moments of flow, pure experience, intensity
of moment. So many close friends come and gone, some remain dear to my heart and in my life.
Two of my closest no longer in the bodies I knew them in. Practiced magick of my own devising, devined.
I discovered my dance (or it found me as the case may be) and I flowed to higher states of
consciousness and was granted a vision beyond the veil of illusion and was
forever changed by it.
The Aspects remained sober at this time, witnessing my decent into the madness of the other world.
Cross-countried to the national Rainbow Gathering in the deep mountains of colorado. Continued
the trip (literally and psychadelically) through the desert, up the west coast and back.
Broke my celibacy against the warning of my friends. Behold, the mystery of birth. Noble attempt,
I joined her in Ohio, at the cost of my drugs, my friends and my appreciation of life. Sans
psychadelics, I returned to the 'burgh and the remnants of the local scene. Chatted with a
ouija entity that claimed to be a sumerian watcher and learned some mysteries. Formed a crew to
converse with it, which eventually broke apart. Traumatic aftermath of disrupted energy left me a
paranoid schizophrenic for a few weeks. Death of a friend at the hands of a demon, which took
interest in me helped form strong defenses and ties with other humans who helped vanquish it.
My second cross-country began in canada, where I met my future boss, then led west to california,
much insight, and a brief stay in Sedona, AZ. A most enjoyable vacation and learning experience.
Headed to Little Rock, AK to stay in a mansion for a week, then to Florida to learn more
magick and heard audio seminars of Ram Dass on the drive back. Upon my return home, I was informed
of the second pregnancy of the bearer of my son. Following this second birth, she and I became
strictly friends, seeing each other only for my visitation purposes.
Shortly thereafter, I got busted with 5 sheets of acid.
My sentancing was only 1 year probation
with no conviction on my permanent record. Who says magick doesn't work?
For many years, I worked for a company called crosswinds which
supplies free email
and web space doing email technical support, which means that I can do my
work from anywhere.
I spent a lot of time in canada, off and on. During the warm season of
1999, I played DJ at psychadelic parties in the middle of the woods just
about every weekend.
I came back to pittsburgh in the fall, and house parties began
again with a crew of my oldest friends. New Years 2000 was a benchmark
for us. It brought us together even more strongly, and we partied the
entire year 2000. Evolution of language, bonding as a clan. We had some
amazing times which would be difficult to surpass, let alone
explain.
The year 2001 was somewhat calmer. We still partied pretty hard for a
while, but the clan split off to some degree. Its more rare to find us
all partying in one place now, which makes the experience all the better
when it does happen. We still seem to find plenty of excuses to
party.
