Amariah,
Cherub Vassal of Dreams

**********

Name: Amariah
Choir: Cherub
Superior: Blandine
Word: Dreams

Vessel: Amanda Marr
5'1" tall; straight waist-length brown hair, worn hippie-style; clear brown eyes framed by gold wire-rimmed glasses; lightly tanned, lightly freckled skin; extremely slender, lithe build. 23 years old.

Amanda tends to wear black leather biker jackets and tight-fitting pants. This is functional rather than for intimidation or sexual purposes. Her primary mode of transportation is a motorcycle, so she needs to keep her clothes tight-fitting, and the bulky pockets of a biker jacket can hold all kinds of things.

Role: 1st year PhD student in Russian Literature at Indiana University. Part-time martial arts instructor.

Background:
Amariah is an old angel. She has been serving Blandine, Archangel of Dreams, for centuries. In fact, she's been a Vassal of Dreams for centuries. She privately thinks it's about time she was promoted and even given her own Word, but she knows better than to push her somber, deliberate Superior. Instead, she does her best to be outstanding at her mission in hopes of attracting more of Blandine's attention.

She tends to prefer young, physically unthreatening roles. Cherubim are the guardian choir, and she finds it best to guard her charges unobtrusively. She's actually been using her role as Amanda Marr for about a decade, starting her as a middle-school student and aging her accordingly. Behind her helpless-looking vessels, she packs a whallop. She's a sharp-shooter with hand firearms and has attained black belt level in a dozen or so martial arts. Even angels of Dream sometimes have to physically defend their charges.

Blandine's mission to her servitors is to protect the artists, geniuses, and visionaries from the mind-destroying nightmares of the Demon Princess Beleth. Amariah tends to specialize in teachers. She is currently guarding Professor Frederick Gand, who is both an inspired teacher and potentially one of the Great American Authors... if can ever get published.

Personality:
Amariah is very observant. Don't be surprise if you feel she is sizing you up. She enjoys watching people more than most Cherubim. She has a deep appreciation of art, music, and literature and a dry sense of humor. She believes deeply in Blandine's mission to protect the visionaries.

She is very good at acting and persuasion. She can be fearsome if she decides to be, but usually she doesn't.

She also likes speed, and she doesn't go anywhere unarmed. If you don't see a weapon, that's when to worry.

She's content to act alone without the intervention of other angels, but if she knows there are angels about, she will look them up.

Skills:
Hand-weapons, martial arts, persuasion, stealth. Russian Literature (yes, she's really studying it).

Attunements:
Cherub Guardianship: The ability to tie herself to one or more charges of her choice. She can sense in general where one of her charges is, and she will know instantly when it is in trouble. However, she is bound to protect whoever or whatever she binds herself to. If the charge comes to harm, she takes dissonance in the Symphony and can run the risk of Falling. All Cherubim have this ability.

Blandine's Cherubim: The ability to enter the dreams of one of the Cherub's charges.

Vassal of Dream Attunement: The ability to take any dreamer nearby with her into the realm of pleasant dreams (Blandine's side of the mind-realm known as the Marches). She must accompany the target into the dream realm.
