Angrybee's Fanfiction Stories
February 15, 2005 (11:16pm):
It's been some time since I updated! I haven't been doing so much
fanfiction writing as before. Still, I've managed to update and write a
few new stories. I've been spending a lot of time doing online RP, as
well as writing some original fiction.
In September, I wrote the first chapter of Black
Licorice, yet another story featuring Ryuichi. I think it has the
same sort of feel as 'Pianissimo Butterfly', but with new characters and a
new story. I have not, however, gotten around to updating it since then.
In November, I posted the first two chapters of The Illustrious
Onnagata, another Gravitation fanfic. This one is set in the early
1860s, in Kyoto. So, that should be interesting to mix the world of the
revolution and Meiji restoration with the world of Gravitation.
I also finished Affairs of the
Inanimate with a third and fourth chapter. The fourth chapter is a
bit hard to follow, and deviates slightly from the first three chapters,
where the objects tell the tale. But, I think it is a fun sort of
fairy-tale ending for the series.
This week, I posted both White Rabbit
and An
Octopus and a Hacksaw. They are both humor stories for the Gravi
fandom. 'White Rabbit' has a bit of a twist of angst, but nothing
gripping. 'White Rabbit' features Tatsuha and Ryuichi, while 'An Octopus
and a Hacksaw' takes an amusing look at Shuichi and Yuki's typical
encounters in fanfiction.
In August, I updated The
Blanket Scenario with a second chapter. It harks back to 'Hajime and
Tokio', and was a fun distraction in remembering writing that story.
Brilliant Eidolon
gained a third chapter. I very much like writing this story, but the plot
is so twisted that it takes me forever to get the events structured
exactly right.
This month, I branched out to two new fandoms. Lucky Lucky Starbuck was
written in homage to my new favorite TV show, Battlestar Galactica (2003).
It's generally humorous, but with an angst twist, as per my favored
genres. Starbuck is just not a morning person, and endeavors to make
waking up just a little better, with the help of some good luck charms.
Pinwheel Libertines
is my new obsession. The story concerns all of the Guild members from the
'Last Exile' series, Dio, Lucciola, Cicada, and Delphine. I'm so excited
about the story, and the possibilities it has for being absolutely
awesome. Very much keeping me entertained.
June 6, 2004 (4:30 a.m.):
Let's see. I've finished Pianissimo
Butterfly. It seems to have been well-received by the Gravitation
community, and that makes me glad. I've posted two new fan-arts relating
to the story in the "Fanfiction Extras" section, so please take a look!
Pianissimo Butterfly has also been entered (by someone besides me) into a
fanfiction contest, which I believe ends at the end of the summer.
I have not yet been able to find time to answer reviews for the final few
chapters of Pianissimo Butterfly. But, please do know that I cherish
every one of your reviews, and I thank you so much for all your kind
words, thoughts, and stories.
I've written a few other new Gravitation fics. The first is one called One Bish, Two
Bish, Rude Bish, Nude Bish, which was a response to a challenge posted
on a livejournal community. (It is quite humorous, if I do say so.)
Another is called Affairs of the
Inanimate, which starts off quite cheeky, I think. It's also a humor
fic.
There's also Brilliant
Eidolon, which is a more serious AU-esque fic from Yuki Eiri's point
of view. Actually, it isn't so much "AU" as "AE". Certain events are
different than how they are depicted in the manga/anime. But,
nonetheless, the story is, at heart, a romance, I think. Well, some
people may fight me on that one. Check it out for no other reason than to
watch Angrybee deftly insert yet another ninja into one of her stories.
Tonight, I updated The
Hitokiri Stainmaster with it's -seventh- chapter. Geez. Seven
chapters? Almost two hundred reviews? Readers are on crack, that's all I
can say.
I've got several collaborative stories in the works, such as Rurouni
Rhythm, which is an attempt to tell the entire Rurouni Kenshin tale in
verse. And, I hope to soon post the first chapters of "MeijiBay". Oh
yes, fear the auctionhouse of Meiji Era Japan. Fear it.
Also, I've been doing more daily updates on my personal writing
journal. Unfortunately, due to my wish to keep my professional life
and my writing life separate, the journal is friends-only. Well, that's
it for now! See you soon!
April 19, 2004:
I've done a few changes to the site. For instance, I took down that
hideous message board, and added just a simple guestbook, instead. Feel
free to leave messages of any sort. If you ask questions, be sure to
include an email address, so I can write back.
In the Fanfiction
Extras section, I added two new fanart pieces. The first is a vivid painting
of Hajime and Tokio by ChiisaiLammy. Then, there's also a cute oekaki
of the Hitokiri Stainmaster by sherlgirl. These are both highly
appreciated, and always give me such a rush to see. Thanks so much to
both of you for these great fanarts!
Let's see. On the fanfic front, I entered the Peacemaker Kurogane Fan
Contest with a short one-shot I wrote called "Hide and Seek". It
wasn't very good, though, and I don't really expect to win.
I've also updated "The Hitokiri Stainmaster", which seems to be a story
people like, even if it is just sort of not going anywhere. In this new
chapter, Yahiko fights the Horrible Henya of the Habanero Hut. Many
Princess Bride and Monty Python references as a cop out for real humor.
Mostly, I am working on "Pianissimo Butterfly" right now, the Gravitation
angst/romance/humor fic. It's getting very exciting, and I seem to be
getting good word-of-mouth recommendations from friends to other friends.
I hope to have chapter 6 up soon. One of the readers promised a fanart,
so look forward to that, too.
I'm also doing a lot of non-fanfiction writing. I've been working on my
book, some microprose, and a few short stories. So many projects, so
little time. I'm hoping to find some time to submit a few of the stories
for publication. Well, we'll see how that goes, I guess.
Also been spending quite a bit of time on an RK forum. If you're a
Rurouni Kenshin fan, then come on over to RK Dreams and
chit-chat with us for a while.
March 25, 2004:
Man, I've been so busy writing fanfiction and working on my novel, that I
really haven't had much time to update this site. Lets see.
Several addtional chapters of San Akoyagai have been posted. I'm stuck on
Chapter 4 due to a plot twist I can't decide. Should Tsurayaki die? Hm.
Might make Yuki-chan much crazier and deadlier. Would definitely provide
a lot of angst for both Okita AND Soujirou. Hm.
The last chapter of "Sundial" was posted, and I did not end up getting any
death threats, which is positive, I suppose.
In addition, I posted an 8th chapter for "Hot and Cold". Not a lot
happens, but we learn a bit more about Meg's past, and meet a new chapter
in the last section. Hm. Office Taylor. Who could that be? Maybe if
you checked out this (SPOILER)picture drawn by
ChiisaiLammy, you'd have a better idea. Teehee! One word,
ChiisaiLammy: SIZZLE! You sizzle in art and you make me sizzle! (You can
mail ChiisaiLammy at chiisailammy@hotmail.com)!
Started a new story called "The Blanket Scenario". I might add an "S" on
the end, since it is actually a collection of scenarios. No, it isn't
smut. It follows a stolen blanket around Meiji era Japan, and reveals
various scenes and situations along the way. Chapter 2 is about half
finished.
I've started writing the fourth chapter of "A Sakabatou for Baka Saitou".
But, my favorite story right now is not in the RK fandom at all. Instead,
I am taking a break to write a look into the mind of Nittle Grasper's lead
singer, Ryuichi Sakuma. That's right, Gravitation fanfiction.
The story should run 5 or 6 chapters, and I just posted the third last
night. I will probably attempt to complete it before going back to RK
fanfiction. (I need the break to clear the mind.)
The first two chapters of my new novel, tentatively titled "Seventh
Wonder", have been written. It should be entertaining when it is
finished, I hope. I might eventually post the first 3 chapters on this
site for those who wish a sneak peak.
There's a local SciFi convention this weekend, and I am looking forward to
it. If anything interesting happens, I will be sure to let you all know!
February 18, 2004:
Well, I am finally over the "lungdeath" which put me out of commission for
about a week. (Angrybee glares at Okita.) I guess when your Patron Saint
has tuberculosis, these things tend to happen, eh?
Okay. Let me see, What is new?
I've posted the third chapter of "Sundial". The fourth chapter has me
stumped, as there are two completely different plotlines which could both
be very good. I'm considering doing a "dual ending" type thing, but I am
having problems writing even one ending. It seems that the humor of this
"humorous" story just will not flow.
ChiisaiLammy has drawn up a wonderful piece of artwork for "Sundial", which
you can see on her
site. Don't you just adore the spooky-swirly background, and the way
the golds of the sundial and Aoshi's trenchcoat both seem to just -glow-?
So cool! You can find -lots- more of ChiisaiLammy's artwork in the
fanfiction extras section. (Or you can mail her at
chiisailammy@hotmail.com)!
I've also posted the first chapter of "Sen Ayokagai". (It means, roughly,
"Three Pearl-bearing Oysters.") I'd spoil it if I told you too much what
this story is about. But, it might have something to do with a certain
shukuchi-ing teenager and the patron saint of this website. Not too much
of a response on this story yet, and I am betting that people won't care
for it too much, but that is OK. Less pressure on me for it to be fabulous.
Lastly, and with much excitement, I found out while I was ill that someone
has nominated "Hajime and Tokio" for a fanfiction elimination contest. I
do not think it will win, as the competition is SCARY, but I hope you will
vote. I hope you will Vote for
Hajime and Tokio, but please only do so once. Additional votes are
will cancel out your first one!
I hope to work on the appendix for the above story as soon as I get a
chance.
January 28, 2004:
Well, I updated "A Sakabatou for Baka Saitou". Chapter 3 isn't, in my
opinion, as funny as the previous two, but still has a few giggles.
In addition, it seems mail to me is getting bounced occasionally. My
email box is OKAY, but the mail server may be overloaded due to the MyDoom
virus. Please mail me again at a later time, or try mailing me at:
plinko@ops.tamu.edu
Thanks!
January 26, 2004:
Well, it is done. The last true chapter of H&T is posted. I'd have more
to say, but I am incredibly tired and need to get sleep before going to
the doctor this afternoon. I'm going to try not to even -think- about
writing the epilogue for now.
Several new submissions for the fan artwork contest for H&T have also been
posted.
January 23, 2004:
Oh man. This last chapter of H&T is so long. Readers are going to lynch
me merely for the length. I'm feeling pretty good about it, though.
Much better than the last 4 chapters, anyway. Has a good spark, I think.
Brings a lot of stuff together and closes it out. I only have the most
difficult scenes left to write. Hopefully, they will get finished over
the weekend.
January 19, 2004:
Yikes. So worn out already, and it is just Monday! Well, this a horribly
busy week for Angrybee. First week of the semester means rush, rush,
rush, in an attempt to get everything up and working for the faculty,
staff and students. I don't know how much I will get done here or on my
writing...
Over the weekend, I worked on the final chapter of H&T. Very long
chapter. About halfway through, I got impatient, and wrote the last
scene. I might write the second-to-last scene next and continue workign
from the bottom up until everything meets in the middle.
I did a -no-no- and looked at some of the first chapters of H&T. GOOD GOD
how they require editing. But no, I am going to wait until I am
completely finished. I will wait. Yes.
January 15, 2004:
Slowly but surely, the pages are fleshing out. I should have more time
after I finish both Sundial and H&T to organize all the crap I've saved to
go on this page. Someone actually posted in the Message Board. (Thanks
CL!) I'm thinking that eventually, I'd like to hold fiction contests
using the message board, and use the polling feature to let members vote
on the winners.
The Random Drool
Zone is probably where I will blather about what I am writing, what
anime I am drooling over, whatever strikes my fancy. Not terribly
interesting, but might help me organize my thoughts a little.
January 13, 2004:
Well, crazy as it may seem, I've made a page to keep track of various
anime type projects I work on. Fanfiction research, interesting and
useful links, fan art for my stories, tidbits, news, etc. I'm not a
brilliant webmistress, so you may have to muddle through my site.
Up at the top there, you'll see the a little man standing on the top of
this site with his sword drawn. This is Okita Souji. (Click on him for
larger picture.) If you blatantly steal any of the artwork or fanfiction
displayed here, Okita will cough on you until you get tuberculosis. And
then, if he still isn't satisfied, he'll probably kill you with a
three-point-thrust.
So, what is this site all about, Angrybee? Well, this site is
basically dedicated to anime fanfiction, my own, and others. I'll share
my occasionally-useful tips, recommend some good readin', and provide a
message board for fanfiction authors to communicate. Of course, we'll
focus mostly on Rurouni Kenshin and Peacemaker Kurogane fanfiction
(or any anime portraying historical eras before the 1900's). However,
other fanfiction writers are welcome, and I'll occasionally recommend
stories from other series, as well. Maybe you'll find something useful
here, maybe not! I make no promises.
Hey. The message board is UP! I hope someone uses it.
