Gaming Interests
I decided that my page was a little out of date, so I'm re-organizing it,
updating it, and sprucing it up a bit.
Personal Contributions to Gaming Sites on the Web
I maintain a couple of pages for games that I enjoy. These aren't all the
games I enjoy, just the ones I keep pages for.
- Legions of Steel is a fast-paced,
realistic, and mind-boggling fun skirmish-level miniatures games made by
Global Games. I collected a tactics manual for it, and conversions
to and from Warhammer 40K (2nd edition).
- The following two links aren't pages, but they are things I've
written. The Vector Thrust rules for
Full Thrust.
Full Thrust is a simple tactical space combat game. The makers of Full
Thrust also make Dirtside II, a 1/300 scale science-fiction game. I
wrote Mecha: Kings of the Battletech as an
optional rule to give it more of aBattletech fieel.
- Click on the little guy to learn
about one of my miniature obsessions.

- Galleries of my other miniatures.
References, Reviews, and Thoughts
Links for Games I play, Companies I like, and Stuff like that.
- Legends of the 5 Rings is a
really cool card game. The Shadowlands Refuge of the Lion includes spoiler lists, and the Gaijin's Guide to
Rokugan helps describe the ongoing story. A good deck archive can be found at the L5R Archive, while Rokugan 2000 is an inspired, if insane, variant on the role-playing game set in the 20th century. Kyuden Hida is one of the best sites for the Clan War miniature game based on L5R.
- I'm a big fan of Steve Jackson
Games, especially GURPS, which is one of the best role-playing systems
available. I have an account at io.com, their ISP.
- Dream Pod 9 makes very cool mecha
games, including Heavy Gear and Jovian
Chronicles. I've written a review
of the Jovian Chronicles rules.
- Cheapass Games puts out incredibly clever, fun to play games for under $5. Check them out!
- The Miniatures Page is
strongly slanted towards Games Workshop products, but it's the only comprehensive site devoted
to miniature wargaming out there, so I check up on it a lot.
- Speaking of miniatures, one of my favorite companies, Ral Partha, has a
homepage. So does RAFM, another good company.
- I don't play many historic wargames, but the Web-Grognards contain useful
information for when I do.
- A long time ago, I used to play Star
Frontiers, TSR's cool science fiction/space opera game.
- Once, I played Albedo, science
fiction furry role-playing based on the comic of the same name.
- Blacksburg Tactical
Research Center puts out a bunch of cool stuff, like Macho Women with
Guns, and Corps.
- This Car
Wars Links Site is cool, since it includes a link to a JAVA Car designer.
General Sites
- If someone has a homepage for a role-playing game or a collectable
card game, Woodelf's RPG site list has a link to it. Sadly, it doesn't cover
war games.
Humor
Collected pieces of humor about gaming. Sometimes these aren't funny,
but usually they are.
Buying Stuff
- I buy all my Jyhad cards from Potomac Distributors, since
they're cheap.
- I used shop at TexSys Games
because, well, they're a decent shop in San Antonio, and there aren't many
others.
- Now that I live in Austin, I buy from Dragon's Lair because they're conveniently located, keep reasonable hours, and are generally cool.
