"The Robert Earl Show"

Click here for a listing of current Robert Earl Keen tour dates.

Seeing Robert Earl live in concert is a near-(fill-in-the-blank) experience. Except for once in Long Branch, NJ, I don't think I've ever seen a crowd not be totally into "the Show." I really can't describe in words what make his shows so cool. Maybe it's his songs. Maybe it's his stories. Maybe it's his full of characters, airtight band. Maybe it's the crowds. Who knows? I'll try and give you a small taste here with some pictures and with sound bites throughout this site. If you really want to know what it's like, GO TO A SHOW! See the contact page for ways to get current tour info.

Robert and fiddle player Bryan Duckworth at Gruene Hall, the oldest dancehall in Texas.

I got this pair at a show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Va, on 9/29/95.

Here's a set list (or at least what made it from the stage to the scanner) from Gruene Hall on Friday, October 20, 1995.

My sister took this of Robert & me at the Luckenbach Dancehall in Luckenbach, Texas, on 5/13/95. We're both smiling 'cuz we had such a good time.

This is my ticket from the "Listening Show" at the Executive Surf Club in Corpus Christi, TX on 7/15/95. Click on these Real Audiolinks chronologically to hear how things went from show to show.

When Robert and band were there on 3/4/95, half the audience was rowdy, half was reserved. Some folks complained, so the manager had to make sure it didn't happen again, hence the idea for the "listening" show. No one really knew what it was supposed to be, including Robert. (click on ticket) The next time Robert and band were back on 10/20/95, everything was back to normal.

This is a ticket from BOCKTOBERFEST at the little Spoetzl brewery in Shiner, Texas on 10/21/95. No coolers allowed. Plenty of beer on hand.
