"Do you also feel you're out there on your own?"

New Changes since 24 Feb 1998
Well, I realized that Binky is no longer going by that nickname, so I changed the graphic to reflect that.
Stephen Bienskie is rehearsing for his role in The Fix, at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA.
If he is even half as good as he was as Buddy in The Last Session - he'll blow the rafters off the roof.
Also, after griping about not having a picture of Grace, Ronda has been kind enough to provide me with one.
This is a real cool one, too! Thanks, Ronda. I owe you a big one.
Finally, the Great Composer himself, Steve Schachlin, checked this page out, and he liked it!
He added a prominent link to his online diary at http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/1173, in one of the pages (I think it is 17 Feb 1998).
I'll wear that compliment as my badge of distinction.
I had written before about The Last Session in the ClickStreams page.
Although I had been slowly filling my head with Steve Schachlin's compositions since December, 1997, I didn't have a chance to watch it for myself until Feb 1998.
It was magic.
Although one can read about TLS on the Internet, actually encountering the depth and sincerity of this work is something else.
I listened to the chatter of people around me, how taken aback they were, and somehow, there was more to this for me.
I don't know if I can find my own words; I was so touched by Jim and Steve's words, and the energy and emotion from the cast and crew.
I met Ronda Espy, one of the producers, who introduced me to some of the cast. I had my handy QuickTake camera with me, and I snapped a few photos.
Sorry, the light was low, and I didn't manage to take as many pictures as I would have wanted.

I walked up to Jim Brochu, and told him, in whatever halting words I could manage, how powerfully this show expresses emotions and issues that should be properly addressed.
One just couldn't leave unaffected, and I wanted to tell him it was good work, and I was very much appreciative.
It isn't every day that I could walk up the the artist of a work, and describe the meaning of the art to me.
I don't know from where within one's soul one can bring up such words and emotion, and God knows, it must take a lot.
Jim hugged me, and told me that I honored him with my words.
It was special.
