In PODSNet, one of the message areas is named Shaman’s Student Union. Here students of Shamnism discuss various experiences and lessons they have learned. We have not only followers of Native American Shamanism, but Shamanism from all over the world. We’ve created this little corner to give you a taste of what we’re about in the hopes that you will join us in PODSNet and come see what The Shaman Student’s Union is all about.

There are many descriptions of what a Shaman is. Many see Shamans as healers, not only of the physical but the spiritual as well. This goes along with the idea that a Shaman moves between this world and the spirit world, bringing peace between the two.

There are many excellent books on Shamanism, each with it’s own point of view. Often, in the Shaman’s Student Union, we read and discuss those books. Each writer and reader brings their own unique experiences to the sharing process.

Elsewhere on this site, you will find an area related to Herbs. Herbs were just one of the gifts that Shamans used in their healing practices. In PODSNet we also have a message area relating to Herbalism. The Herbalist is a message area for all who want to grow and use herbs, not only for healing but for cosmetic, magickal, cooking, etc. We discuss growing herbs as well as herbal preparations and uses.
